Baglioni Resort Maldives - Luxury All Inclusive

When we were looking for an idyllic honeymoon destination, the Baglioni was in the top 3 of our list, but it was out of budget when we started looking at the Maldives. We were lucky with our timings and with our Travel Counsellor Deborah, who managed to secure 10 nights at the Baglioni Resort within our budget. It still is not a cheap option, but it was worth every penny!! We travelled 22nd November to 2nd December 2024 and this is our experience. Travel to the island. The island is reached by sea plane that is a short drive from the Male airport. We had full access to the very comfortable Infinity TMA lounge that had lots of hot and cold drinks on offer, along with plenty of snacks. The plane itself holds maybe 15 passengers, and the flight team were great at Tetris and packing the multiple suitcases at the back of the plane. I’m not going to lie, it is a tight squeeze, the chairs are snug, but the seat belts are very long, so even the more cuddlier of us were able to sit relatively comfortably for the 40–45-minute flight to the island. It was very warm initially but manageable once the aircon started (only after take off). On arrival we were ferried from a small floating dock (this is due to the tide) by boat to the island. We were greeted and walked down to reception along a wooden boardwalk to the open reception area. Here we were offered a glass of fizz or coconut water (still in the coconut). We were allocated a GRO who would be our point of contact throughout our stay. We had the lovely Kim looking after us and she really made every effort to speak to us at least twice a day and she organised everything for us, from restaurant bookings, pizza delivery to our room, our honeymoon a la carte experience to extra milk for the minibar. She was brilliant and always on hand. Leaving the island - we left from the main boardwalk which was easier. We were met at the TMA airport by a Baglioni representative who stayed with us until we went through passport control at Male airport. This was helpful, especially navigating a small but very busy airport. Another nice touch as we said goodbye to the Maldives. Our Accommodation We were lucky to book a water villa. This wasn’t the sunset side, but we really didn’t mind. The room was airy, well decorated and well appointed although it did feel a little tired in places. In our room we had plenty of hanging space for clothes, a safe, 4 draws and a cupboard to stow our clothes and suitcases. There are also more pillows if needed. There is a hairdryer in the room, a laundry service if needed and a complimentary beach bag if needed. There isn't an iron or ironing board in the room. There is a well-stocked mini bar that's replenished every day and it includes a range of soft drinks, beers, a half bottle of red and white wine, Haribo Gold Bears, Ferrero Rocher chocs, 2 x sharing bags of crisps and 2 jars of nuts. We visited early December (family)- we had a wonderful time. We stayed on the beach villa facing east and saw beautiful sunrises. Our GRO (Chingiz) was very helpful with coordinating reservations and answering questions. We snorkeled (snorkeling gear provided) off the beach. Transportation to and from Male Velana airport and Trans Maldivian Airways were seamless. We enjoyed the restaurants (Yama, Taste, and Fuego- did not get a chance to try Limo) and the spa services were amazing. Highly recommend. Our return flight to the states was at 1:45AM after checkout (we were fortunately given a late check out) and we booked a hotel in Male for the 8 hours of downtime. Baglioni coordinated transportation with the other hotel which was helpful.

Outstanding!! The island and the sea are amazing. Coral reef and turquoise water keeps you snorkelling all day long, surrounded by a variety of fishes and underwater nature. Beach villas are amazing: sea facing (you can enjoy sunrise and sunset with colours hard to describe), super comfortable, with all the amenities to make your stay relaxing and exciting at the same time. The bathroom is exceptional. The resort is like a paradise, where you can move from one restaurant to another, to the beach pool bar or SPA just few minutes walking across palm and tropical vegetation. It really seems to be in movie! Great food (Italian - chef Andrea is amazing -, international, Japanese and grill) and drinks. On top of everything, what made our vacation unforgettable, was the courtesy and kindness of the entire personnel: always smiling, always available to take care of us, to cuddle us, to make ourselves comfortable and feel welcome. I was extremely impressed by their professionalism and their authentic way to be happy we were there. Our housekeeping person (I think his name was Jahson but may write it wrongly) was setting up the villa two times a day and from time to time gifted us with wonderful things on the bed (floral welcome message, swans with towels, and 'see you soon' floral composition when we left). And every time we met him he wanted to make sure everything was perfect and did not leave without thanking us with his hand on his heart! Same behaviour and courtesy from all the staff of the diving/excursions center. Great excursions (snorkelling tour - with turtles encounter - , dolphin tour - and we saw many - visit to a real inhabited island, golden sandbank). They took care of us, guided us, always with us even in the water to ensure our safety and to make sure we enjoyed all the experiences. And again, with an authentic courtesy and kindness hard to forget. And what to say about our personal assistant, Kim: she took us hand-in-hand from the beginning to the end, welcoming us when we arrived with the seaplane, booking for us everything (restaurants, SPA, ...), making our vacation perfect, and greeting us when we left from the seaplane pier. Thank you Kim!!!! I could write for hours.... but only going there you can really feel what a great experience is! Summary: our experience at Baglioni Madlives did exceed all expectations! 5+ stars in everything (location, services, food and drink, villas, personnel).
