The location is excellent, just a few meters from the coastal road. The (sportboat) port is only 200 metres away, so you can walk on the sea side to the other end of the place to take the ferry there. The hotel is conducted by two business-made ladies, who made me a stick for a single trip room 140 euros, which was clearly too much. Unfortunately, in open windows, sleep is hardly thought, because in about 30 meters away the freight trains pass, if you have the room to the wrong side. The bathroom was newly made, beautiful tiles and a modern shower. Well..... where do I start, this is one of the most breath taking places I have ever visited in the world. I booked this for my daughters 30th birthday it was her choice to go to Switzerland, neither of us had visited this part of the world before and it far exceeded our expectations. It took a plane, train and a taxi to get us to the hotel so a bit of a journey but sooooooo worth it. We flew to Milan, took a train to Lugano and got a cab up to the hotel. Tip catch the 444 bus from the train station, it so much cheaper than a cab and the bus drops you right outside the hotel, we used the bus every time after that to go down to the town. The hotel itself is stunning, the views are amazing, you have to see them to believe the photos do not capture the utter beauty of this place. You will also notice the peace, all you can hear is birdsong, it is absolute heaven. The hotel staff are amazing, they could not be more helpful. We has lots of questions and time and again they helped even printing bus time tables and giving us maps and tips. We had a welcome prosecco on arrival and then went to find our room. WOW! and what a room We had been upgraded from a garden room to a room with a view of the lake and a wrap around balcony. My daughter opened the balcony door and almost burst with excitement, it was amazing. We had a twin room which was large and super bathroom and even the view from the loo. The room was clean and comfortable, there is a safe, fridge and kettle. You are provided with robes, slippers and even a bag to pop your bits in when using the spa. This hotel has thought of everything. I could write a 10,000 word review on this hotel there is so much to say. The infinity pool is warm and you lean your elbows up on the side and just stare at that view. There is an amazing indoor pool which you can swim into from the outside pool through automatic doors. Tip give the sensors a little wave and the doors open quicker. We had two treatments in the Dot spa a massage on one day and a facial on the other, both fabulous and the staff in the spa are great. Breakfast was included in our room rate and had so much choice. We eat in the restaurant for lunch a dinner but also had room service and dinner on our balcony which was lovely and a little bit cheaper to. The view every where are fantastic, it takes 30 minute to get up the mountain so you are very high. There is a little airport way below and we loved watching the planes take off over the lake and we were still way above them. We took a walk through the Algra mountain one morning and whilst it is challenging (its very steep) it is so beautiful and worth the climb. I could say so much more but I think you should just go and see for yourself. You will not be disappointed you will come away feeling on top of the world. My daughter loved it so much she is going to return with her husband for their 10th wedding anniversary. Thank you so much Kurhaus we had the best time.

The view is stunning. We stayed in two of the economy rooms ( without view to the lake). The rooms are basics but comfortable enough( plentiful warm water with good pressure) and at a good price. This area of Italy is really beautiful and not meant for you to stay in your room for hours on end. The breakfast buffet in the restaurant ( gorgeous view) includes good proper Italian cappuccino, different pastries, ham, boiled and scrambled eggs , toast , fruits, yoghurts. The service is good and attentive. We also had pizza in the evening . The pizzas are thin and very big. We enjoyed them. The receptionist and Maria were particularly nice to us, giving us advice and arranging things for us. This region in Italy is full of hills and the incline of the streets can be quite steep with many curves in the roads. If you decide to rent a car I would advise an SUV or a 4X4 the streets are in a good state but a stronger car will manage easier those hills. When you are arriving to the hotel you should follow the signs of the hotel instead of your navigation system. Our navigation system selected a route that passed an old village with very narrow streets ( only fit for very small cars or motobikes). You can easily get stuck on those narrow streets. I would strongly recommend arriving at the hotel during the day and not when it is dark. I would definitely stay in hotel la Stampa again.

Hotel ist sehr gut gelegen! See ist eine Strassenüberquerung entfernt und in 8 Min Binder Piazza grande entfernt. Haben sehr kurzfristig gebucht. Beim Check In meldet uns die freundliche Mitarbeiterin ein Upgrade Zimmer mit Seesicht, da das von gebuchte Zimmer nicht mehr zu Verfügung stand. Zimmer gross und sauber, mit Tisch und Stühle, innen sowie aussen. Sohn war müde vom Wandern und durfte sein vom Hotelrestaurant zubereiteter Hamburger mit frischen Pommes im Zimmer geniessen. Das Bettsofa war komfortabel gross, das Bett selbst sehr bequem. Vielfältiges Interkontinentales Frühstück. Dank des milden Wetters sassen wir draussen. the best hostel experience of my travels. the hotel rooms are on the upper floors of a beautiful Villa right behind the Lugano train station (5 minute walk). the hostel rooms are in the cellar. one communitity bathroom with 2 showers and 2 WC and 3 separate rooms with bunk beds. small pillows, sheet and blanket are included. community kitchen and large fridge for food and drinks. the MOST AMAZING POOL! with sun lounge beds, small bar and towels. for a summer visit to Lugano, it is best value stay and very easy to find.

Nice and modern hotel in good location with great views over the Lago di Lugano. The staff was professional, experienced and super friendly. Breakfast was always good with plenty of choice. We'll definitely stay again at Grand Hotel Campione!
