Mansion Hill Inn

Outstanding in every respect! The entire team - Erik, Haley, Nicole, Juan and Adam - welcomed us warmly, offering help with luggage and information and beverages. The property itself is extraordinary. The rooms are pristine. We cannot wait to return!

We have stayed at B&Bs all over the Midwest. This one has hospitality that was so amazing! Nicole checked us in and provided us with options for entertainment. Terrance was there when we came back later, a bit wet from a downpour. He gave us towels and a pot of Chamomile tea to warm up. Juan was with us at breakfast and gave us a map and tips on exploring downtown and walking along the river. Eric gave us a history of the inn. Breakfast was delicious and the coffee was so good we went to the shop they use and bought some to take home!

My husband and I enjoyed 2 wonderful nights at the inn and it exceeded even our high expectations. The warmth, helpfulness and high level of service by every member of the team is extraordinary. The property is stunning! We watched the most spectacular sunsets on the lake from our bathroom. Charming, clean, comfortable and well equipped doesn’t begin to describe our room. I appreciated the lovely Occitane bath products. We were in number 7 and totally delighted. It was very quiet and we slept soundly. The breakfasts were delicious with fresh berries, excellent bread and pastries and freshly brewed coffee. We’re on a long cross country road trip with many stops and this has been a highlight of our journey. If we return to Madison we wouldn’t even consider staying anywhere else.

We held our small (＜50 person) wedding and reception at Mansion Hill Inn on June 21, 2024, and to say that the hotel exceeded our expectation is an understatement. The staff was prompt and attentive, making sure that our every need was attended to. They even saved a large portion of each tier of our cake, as we initially didn't have time to eat any. As my best man put it, "They treated me like the president of the United States." As part of the contract, you rent all ten rooms, giving you the opportunity to give nine wedding guests a luxurious place to stay. The response from our friends and family was overwhelmingly positive, all sharing how incredible their rooms were, and how much they loved them. When we closed the hotel bar, we moved much of the party to a suite in the basement, where the hotel sent an assortment of salty and sweet snacks for us to enjoy. Every penny you spend here is worth the experience, and if you're looking for a unique wedding venue, you absolutely cannot go wrong choosing Mansion Hill Inn for both the ceremony and reception.

I would give this lovely place and its extraordinary staff 100 stars if I could. We stayed here four nights, and were totally enchanted by the historic beauty and most especially by the amazing service, the best and most thoughtful service I’ve ever had at a hotel of any kind. Each and every staff member is a gem. It is also the cleanest place we’ve stayed— all details attended to, no weird smudges on walls or forgotten dusty baseboards. We loved everything about our stay, especially our wonderful conversations with staff members and fresh baked cookies at night. Thank you for the perfect experience; we will be back.

Stayed here for a girl's trip with four us in room nine. We were warmly greeted upon our arrival, with our special request of charcuterie board waiting for us in the room. There were so many fluffy pillows, and a large king bed. Everything was super clean, and the room was luxurious, elegant and cozy. The location was walkable to literally everything. We went to Heritage Tavern for dinner, and Oz by Oz for drinks after. We ended up staying in the room for the rest of the night playing games on the spacious floor because the room was just so cozy! Thanks to the amazing, knowledgable staff for making our stay so special. Will remember this weekend with my friends forever!

I had a wonderful stay at Mansion Hill Inn. I was struck by the ambience of the property when I arrived on an evening. The lighting was just perfect. The inn’s homepage does not do it justice because it cannot convey the ambience. The common area is very well-maintained and elegant. The staff are very helpful and friendly. I feel very well taken care of. I stayed in one of their small rooms, so there is not much to say about the room itself. The room is comfortable and clean. It has access to the large veranda, so I can relax outside as well. The bathroom is very clean, spacious and there are two shower heads, one of each side, and good countertop space. The hotel is very centrally located, within walking distance to State Street and Capitol building. Yet it is located far enough from the noise of downtown area. I enjoyed my stay and I hate that I cannot give it a five star. What holds me back from giving it a five star is the quality of the breakfast. For the price it charges, the breakfast is very limited in the choices of food. There are only fruits, breakfast pastries, yogurt, granola, breakfast bar, juice, coffee, tea. I understand they do not have a full kitchen and cannot serve cooked food but for the price it charges, I expect a more bountiful breakfast with cold cuts, eggs, etc. I hope they can improve the quality of the breakfast and I hope to stay there again when I visit Madison.
