The room is comfortable and the location is very convenient. The opera house is downstairs. The only drawback is that the door is hard to find You can walk to the main attractions in the city center The service staff are also very friendly. It’s a good hotel to get a quiet place in the middle of the hustle and bustle.

Just opposite the Grand Palace of Madrid, a very unique location. Remind everyone that the door is closed when looking for a hotel. You have to look at the nameplate at the door and ring the doorbell. Next to the hotel are restaurants and concert halls. Traveling is very convenient. It is very close to all attractions. The front desk is also very welcoming. There is an elevator that can go directly to the room floor. This hotel has a very antique feel. It is very suitable for taking children to experience. The room is large and tidy, and no disposable items are provided. But there is a kettle and microwave. Because it is an old house, there will be some noise from the floor, but we were so tired that it did not affect our sleep. Overall, it is highly recommended!

Beautiful property with an excellent staff! The location is perfect for walking to enjoy the city. Check in was a breeze and the front desk provided maps and ideas for dining, shopping, and sightseeing. The views are breathtaking of the Palace, and the best food in the city are within a short walk. I highly recommend this property and hope to stay there in the future.

This is a small hotel with about 30 rooms. It faces the Royal Palace in Plaza de Oriente. When hailing taxis, don't bother with the name of the hotel, just tell them "Plaza de Oriente". We had a large room with a small balcony facing the Royal Palace. The room was clean, bed was comfy. Bathroom with shower was okay. Front desk was accommodating, quickly bringing an extra luggage rack and softer pillows. The chairs in the room had fabric that was somewhat stained. For breakfast we went to San Gines Chocolateria for their famous churros with hot chocolate, a 7 minute walk. Lots of places to eat. Puerta del Sol and Plaza Mayor all within walking distance. The Prado is about a half-hour walk. Location can't be beat. Front desk helpful with recommendations and scheduling taxi pickups.

The hotel is on a pedestrian-only road, so had to walk ~1-2 blocks from taxi to hotel. Also upon leaving for airport, you can't tell a taxi to come to the address, because they can't come to the front door, we managed to hail a taxi ~ 3 blocks away from front door. there is an elevator but it was out of order for ~1-2 days of our stay. our room was on the 5th floor. This was all ok for us, but I mention it for any mobility-challenged people. Room was quite spacious, there was a small bathroom, sitting area, separate couch & coffee table area, dinging table with 4 chairs, & queen bed. shower was great, had good water pressure with shower head that could be taken off its holder. The view from our room was absolutely beautiful, it was of the palace & the gardens in front of the palace. A nice thing about this, is we could see when something was going on at the palace (horses or guards out front) & then run down to watch. I loved the location, there were ample restaurants. cafes & bars within ~ 1 block. also shopping, metro stop, churro places were walkable. Hotel staff recommended Cafe Vergara for breakfast & we loved it. We also went to Cafe Oriente & La Botilleria, which were just downstairs from the hotel & they were very good too. One day it rained & hotel staff let me borrow an umbrella, which I thought was above & beyond. Wood floors & wood beams in the ceiling were a nice authentic touch. Reliable wi-fi & air conditioning.

We stayed this hotel for two nights. It is in a great location; across from the palace and walking distance from just about everything. The staff was great. We arrived in the morning, and they held our luggage, so that we could explore. They even set up a couple taxi rides for us. Breakfast is not included, but there is s cafe/bakery just around the corner. The room was big and it included a refrigerator microwave, and coffee. I would stay in this hotel again.

I stay in many hotels across Europe and must say this is the worst on my list The noise in my £166 room is bonkers blamed on a fan from a restaurant I asked for a change of room to be told the fan will turn off at 23:00 This is not a quiet fan no an industrial extractor and even with ear plugs no respite Awful awful awful Stay away from this Gutted

We loved Hostal Central Palace Madrid! The location was excellent, the staff was very friendly and helpful, and we were impressed with the size and cleanliness of the room. We had a balcony with a view of the palace, which was beautiful. Little things that we wouldn't expect on a vacation like a comfortable bed and a spacious shower were very nice to have. Also, the room was soundproof, as we did not hear much outside on the plaza and in the palace gardens. There were a few minor things that were broken, but they did not impact us and were promptly fixed by the staff.

I don't know why this place is called a 'hostel'. It is a hotel. It is NOT a place for backpackers and such, but a legit hotel. Surely they don't identify themselves as a "hostal". Anyway, the location of this place is magnificent, five stars! Directly across from the Royal Palace on the Plaze Oriente, just a beautiful leafy view, great to wake up to every morning. It's an easy walk to just about anything you want to visit, from the Plaza Central to the St. Gines Chocolateria. The main shopping and dining district is just behind it, so many good places to eat and relax. Secondly, the service was outstanding. The staff is friendly, helpful and happy to chat about whatever topics you'd like. They will go out of their way to help if they can, and truly wish you a great stay. On the downside, there were some technical issues. The drain in the shower is quite slow, the bed a bit harder and smaller than I'd prefer. All in all I'd certainly be happy to stay here again.

We moved from next door- The Oriente Palace apartments for an extra few nights stay. This is a sister hotel and whilst similar in design and decor, offers much better value. It's in the same historical building and isn't a hostel as the name would imply. If we were to visit again I would choose this one over the Oriente Palace Apartments as they offer the same view, a bigger bathroom, the same super helpful service, and just 20m next door.

Great location and super helpful staff. We only had a couple of nights in Madrid and the receptionists recommendations for food and what to see were fantastic and helped us make the most of our limited time. Accommodation was clean and very comfortable. Would definitely stay there again.

We stayed in a queen room in Aug 2022. Room is spacious and clean with wonderful views of Real Palace. Location is good as it is within walking distance to most places of interest and restaurants and eateries. The room is spacious and the toilet well lit with good water pressure. Hotel is located on Plaza Orient, just above the Plaza Orient Cafe. So do expect some noise during day time when the cafe is in operation. We were not bothered as the wooden windows nicely blocked out the noise and light. Do note that this is NOT a hotel with proper lobby. The reception is located on the first floor (some flights of steps) and we were given a room on the second floor (more steps). There is an elevator but there are still some steps to negotiate from the elevator to the front entrance. The steps did not bothered us. In fact, we were intrigued to stay in a place which is located in an old building. We also encountered good service from the staff.

We stayed here twice at the beginning and end of a trip to Spain. The rooms as simple, but clean and well appointed . The location is great on Plaza de Oriente directly across from Central Palace, which is great. What made it a great stay was the service. The team on site made good recommendations and when I got sick during our stay (nothing to do wit hotel), was really kind and helpful. It's on a plaza so there is some noise, but the restaurants below close up, so if you are keeping Madrid hours (late dinners and slower mornings) it works out fine. I'm a light sleeper and benefitted from ear plugs when turning in early.
