I stayed here for four nights to see the sea of clouds. In the end, I wasn't able to see the sea of clouds, but the view of the world here was still amazing and I was very satisfied.

Very bad. Would not recommend staying in this hotel. Maybe it's because no one is taking care of it. There are many mosquitoes and insects, especially the bed where I sleep is very dirty. The bathroom feels very scary... If there are not many people, it is not recommended to stay at night. You will be scared.

It is the best place to travel. The high bamboo buildings can overlook the forest and mountains. It is quiet and leisurely. It is suitable for inhabitation and meditation.

Phu Chaisai is a place with a soul! The architecture is a thoughtful dialogue with the surrounding nature. Nestled perfectly into the mountain and surrounded by jungle, each place - terraces, rooms, pool, restaurant … - offers a splendid view into the wide range of mountains. The people working in the resort are welcoming, helpful and warmly. Breakfast and restaurant were fine, the massage is a must! Plan on enough time to take in and enjoy the spirit of this unique place and it’s people.

This was just such a surprise. After a long day sightseeing, the rather unimposing road up to the hotel gave no indication at all of the paradise that awaited. Neither did the walk from reception to the strange looking mud cabins. However, once inside we were enchanted. Perched on the hillside the room had a wonderful balcony with views stretching towards the distant sunset. The early morning view through the mist was just as beguilling. The highlight of the hotel though was without doubt the bar and restaurant area. Centred around a fabulous pond with a staggering quantity of very hungry Koi, one could have been easily tempted to forget any further tours or excursions and just sit here sipping wine and taking in the surroundings indefinitely. It was just fabulous. If you do resist that temptation, then a trip to the Golden Triangle and the Laos border makes a very pleasant day out. To the west there are the tea plantations of Mae Salong and to the north the hugely colourful botanical gardens of Mae Fa Luang.

…in paradise. This is a truly beautiful resort: gardens, people, pond, pool, cats, flowers, and the perfect view from almost everywhere! Restaurant and Spa are excellent, the hikes into the mountains easily accessible. Make sure to book a Cottage Upper Mountain, they are big, comfortable, with a huge deck and a complete bathroom. We really did not want to leave!

The resort was absolutely perfect. Nestled in the mountains with lovely cottages scattered within - it was idyllic. The staff was super helpful in arranging taxi transportation (we did not have a car) and hotel drivers if required. The restaurant served wonderful Thai cuisine. The rooms are quite large with beautiful views of the surrounding landscape. Chiang Rai is roughly 40 minutes away, but easily accessible with the taxis. This resort as a base to go north or south would definitely be a good choice.

We were regular customers of Phu Chaisai. We had our favorite room we enjoyed staying in. We always called ahead before making a reservation to choose a date that the room we liked was available. Then when making the reservation, Mr Champ, the reservation manager, would inform us that they will not hold that specific room-even though it was available. I’ve spent my career traveling and always experienced good guest relations and customer service. Only at Phu Chaisai have I experienced this unbending rigidity to be helpful. Me Champ is quick to reply, offering free cancellation if I don’t comply. We were not interested in other rooms as they were unkept and smelled of feral cat urine.

We were in over 40 countries and many places in this way, but Phu Chaisai was the best of all. The place is like a paradise. Their garden and sounds from the jungle make it amazing. Stuff is very nice and helpful, and food is good too. Houses are beautiful and luxury, with plenty of space. Only one anoying thing is mosquitos, but stuff provide repeliant to the guests.

A very special hotel at a very special place! I would definitely recommend Phu Chaisai Mountain Resort and I can guarantee it's nothing like any place you've ever been before. The air, the view, the food and tea - we absolutley loved our stay! The tour guide was super nice and showed us a lot of special spots with all his insider knowledge and stories. The only thing to keep in mind is, that this hotel is deep in the forest and you should a) plan beforehand how you intend to take trips and b) be okay with some bugs and wildlife here and there. Big moths, lizards, mosquitos, frogs and huge snails will greet you but also the cute local hotel cats! :) The staff is super friendly, the rooms are clean and comfortable, all in all we canˋt wait to visit again!

A world away from busy tourist trail, Phu Chaisai resort is lost in bamboo jungle. The chalets have all great views of mountains and valley below and you are surrounded by lush tres and flowers all around the resort. The restaurant serves delicious Northern Thai food and also a selection of European dishes with organic produced farmed locally. There are miles of walks in the mountains and a lovely pool to relax after having explored the local area. The staff are all very friendly. Definitely worth a visit for a perfect relaxing and peaceful stay in middle of beautiful surroundings.

This charming country oasis is located in the foothills of Northern Thailand. It's a quiet, organic farm on different levels on a small mountain. Be prepared for stairs, ramps, and getting in touch with plenty of beautiful nature. Our all-wood and bamboo upper mountain room had a fantastic view off the balcony, which had a table, chairs, and side seating with pillows. In the early dry season, we only needed one A/C unit running, and got used to the open-air bathroom. It was very rustic: it was musty and we needed available pillow toppers for the rock-hard mattresses. The little shop was adorable, and there is a spa, too. Restaurant had wonderful food, and the staff so very polite and nice. Breakfast had a very good selection of local foods, teas, and coffee. A chef can cook your eggs to order. Way below is the fantastic infinity swimming pool. The deck could use a few more loungers, but one afternoon that we had free, there was only us. Called on our mobile for some drink service :-), but is so nice to be out of touch. So, we highly recommend Phu Chaisai!

The supposed NY Manager is nowhere to be seen, staff are on their own, acting with minimal care and a great lack of enthusiasm. Most of the rooms are infected with bugs that staff do not even bother to clear them out before the guests’ arrival, despite the very few guests in attendance. The pool is disgustingly dirty and in an absolute stage of abandon. The only good thing about this place was the remarkably good food. However, I would not recommend to order the chocolate lava cake, since they do not use a good quality chocolate, making a total disservice to this otherwise exquisite dessert. The hotel is actually located quite far from Chiang Rai town and about an hour or so to the White Temple and Blue Temple, so consider this if you had planned to go to these places easily from the hotel. We had a sad experience here, since one can tell how gorgeous once upon a time this place was so to witness the current decay is depressing, to say the least!
