The rooms are simple and well equipped. The hotel is warm and the hotel is very clean. The wooden litter is perfect and the rooms are comfortable. The price quality ratio is excellent. Katiliya Mountain Resort is a beautiful and we'll maintained property that has excellent service and offerings. While we were there, we were amongst the hand full of guest that where staying for a few nights. We stayed in the mountain suite, which has magnificent views of the valley, and the largest bath tub I've ever seen. Honestly the bath room felt large and sufficient for a couple. Despite the occasional fly and bug (from the forest), the room is clean and comfy. I felt that the sheets smelt a little damp and did not had a good smell - but understably the resort is in a forest and it is humid. The aircon, while dated, was strong and worked wonderfully. For light sleepers, the room does not have soundproofing, which let's in plenty of the crickets (which is very very loud). Nevertheless, the resort provides buggy service to the lobby or the pools, which is prompt and quick. I took a quick dip in the pool and found it slightly dirty with 'things from the forest' and mosquitos around, but it's generally quite relaxing. Do take note that the pool has a depth of 1.5m at its deepest. Breakfast was sufficient and proper. Eggs, we're amazingly cooked and the scrambled eggs were - above our expectations. And the bacon, was served fresh and hot! Together with its warm and attentive service, the breakfast service is an awesome start to the day - just remember to put on mosquito repellent 😅 While there is ample parking, the road between the hotel and the main road is filled with potholes and sandy terrain, which may not be for everyone. The road also does not have lights, so it would be better to leave and return before sunset. Overall, Katiliya Mountain Resort is a great place to stay and one that I'll certainly visit again in the near future. One thing that stood out was the extent the staff goes to provide for your needs, including making you feel welcomed and ensure that your stay is comfortable.

The best hotel we've had in terms of comfort, facilities, bed, bathroom, staff, breakfast.... modern and well-thought out. An enormous VERY comfortable bed, storage space, view, pool. Easy to find and great for exploring the area - Golden Triangle, caves, mountains... such a comfortable, luxurious room. Great value. Sad to leave! You cannot go wrong with this choice. A treat!

The location and service were great! The friendly owner spoke good English and helped us with ideas for a walk through the tea plantations. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent. If you love nature and take a trip through the area of ​​the golden friends and you have your own (rental) car, we recommend this fantastic location to everyone!

Lovely place in the mountains. Our room had balcony and view of tea plantation, it was clean and comfortable with air-conditioning, didn't have small fridge in room. We ate at the restaurant and they have good choice of Thai meals. Good Wifi, staff polite and helpful

The lodging is a mix bag of business - retail shop and restaurant in front and lodging at the bottom. The staff here speaks no English whatsoever and we ended up using hands and gestures to communicate with one another. Suffice to say that the design is industrial style. The room is very echo-ey due to hard surfaces. The room has got a fantastic view to its surroundings and it's rather spectacular. There is strong WiFi signal in the room too. And now, let's get into the unexpected parts...right in the middle of the night, perhaps due to mating season between cats, many of them were purring at one another loudly for a very protracted period of time. In the end, the sound rattled up the whole ”neighbourhood” and other hotel guests were attempting to shush the cats away but to no avail. Then, closer to 4am, the cocks started to do their bit to wake up the neighbourhood and it was seriously disruptive to our sleep. In the countryside, the noise made by the cocks were seriously loud and nonstop. If you are willing to put up with all the commotion, Wang Put Tan might just be your stop. Once is enough for us.

Wonderful! We booked a Jacuzzi Suite J1, 1 night, 3 people. WoW! Great! The road is smooth but ok with our rental car Toyota Yaris. The road is widely worth it. Super on site, very good. Excellent service. They speak very little English but they are very devoted. A big heart cut for us! Go without hesitation! This will be a very nice experience. Breakfast in the room: WoW and re-Wow! Well equipped room.

The hostel is said to be the earliest hostel in the area and has been in operation since 1970. I really want to hear their story. The hostel is right next to the market. You can have local breakfast in the morning. The environment of the hostel is very good and the cabins are cute. The garden has signs of careful care, and beautiful photos can be taken in every area; you can climb up the mountain in the morning to watch the beautiful sunrise; the people in the store are very amiable, they can actually speak Chinese, and will enthusiastically introduce nearby special places to visit. , and also provided travel routes and positioning on the wall at the front desk, which was so considerate. The room was neat and clean. Surprisingly, the room used purified mountain spring water in environmentally friendly glass bottles, and toothbrushes were provided. What was also subversive was that the hotel did not use electric hot water for bathing, but a central hot water supply. I was there I’ve stayed in so many hotels in Thailand, and this is the first time I’ve enjoyed it. Great.

The service staff were all very welcoming and hospitable but special mention goes to the lady boss who took the time to share about the area and give us recommendations on where to go ( we could converse in Mandarin). When we decided to leave the mountain a day earlier than planned, she offered a refund, which was not expected at all. Very sincere service and we were pleasantly surprised. However, the room we ere in was a different matter. The twin room we were in didn’t have a heater or aircon so we were essentially huddling under the sheets at night. The toilet had a sewage smell which was thankfully more or less contained when the door was closed. We took a peak and the rooms with. K8ng sized beds were way more spacious and comfortable (alas, we were too late to book that).

I spent the most amazing new year vacation in Chiang Rai. I stayed at Phufa Waree for 5 nights and got a well-deserved rest. The location of Phufa Waree is around 18 km. from Chiang Rai town. I know it's quite far but once you learn how to commute, it's really not a deal-breaker. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The room is big (I got a one-bedroom suite), the bathroom is also huge. The only thing that I would complain about is the sofa in the living room. It's built-in and it's not really that comfortable. The accommodation comes with a buffet breakfast, serve from 6:30 to 10 am. They have a Thai-style buffet spread and they serve different dishes every day. Outside the hotel, there's a nice restaurant called Tid Dao Tid Din. The food is also good and inexpensive. Getting to town is a bit tricky, taxis and even Grab car is very expensive so try to hail a small green bus, which comes every 15 or 20 minutes. The fare is around 18 Baht and it will take you straight to Chiang Rai town (the bus station is near the Night Bazaar). All in all, I would say I had a great stay at Phufa Waree.
