The hotel itself is excellent, including the infrastructure and hygiene. However, as a five-star hotel, the Karen reception and ****** staff are not professional and unacceptable.

Charming hotel in a castle. Nice rooms with very comfy bed and premium toiletries. Central courtyard for breakfast and on site parking. Outside of town and a good 20 minute walk to the waterfront and 40 mins into the town centre. No gym.

The room was lovely, the staff in the restaurant was lovely as well. However, the overall service is way too far from a five star hotel. Weirdly, the reception knocked our door in the morning twice without calling on the phone, we were very surprised. When we left, the staff drove their shuttle bus to cut our way which is very surprising as well.

The hotel is not in the city of Malaga, but the scenery is beautiful. The breakfast and dinner in the restaurant are very good. The room is comfortable. The bathroom is a bit slow. The other experiences and services are very good. Recommended

Environment: Very beautiful. There is a swimming pool with direct views of the sea. It is decorated on the castle. Hygiene: very clean Service: The service is very enthusiastic and the attitude is very good Facilities: Very complete The only thing is that the location is on a mountain and you need to take a taxi. But it is very suitable for vacation. I can’t fault it.

The hotel is on the mountain, it is a castle, very beautiful, you can see the sea, the breakfast is ordered, but it is also very rich, giving people a different feeling.

Lovely hotel up in the hills of Malaga. Small pool area but spectacular views and lovely courtyard for breakfast and evening drinks/ dinner. Nice walk along the promenade into the city & short walk down to beach for morning swim. Lovely ambience.

This has been one of the best holidays we have ever had! The ambience of the hotel is sensational...partly built around an old Moorish style Fort, the developers have created an oasis of calm, with alfresco dining to the fore. From the hilltop location there are extensive views to the nearby coast, with beaches less than 10 minutes walk away. Well spread out seating areas allow guests to indulge in quiet reading or peaceful relaxation surrounded by potted palms and plants. Topping the bill is the team of friendly and ever courteous staff. Nothing is too much trouble for them. In many ways it is invidious to pick out individuals from such an accomplished team...but we were especially impressed with Manuel. Maria and Alberto. We will return!

We absolutely loved this place! We were at the end of our trip and wanted a quiet place to relax, read, and eat well! Everything was amazing. Very small hotel in a quiet neighbourhood, far from the noise and with great views. It's a 10-15 minutes wlak to the beach, 30 minutes walk to Malaga, but for us it was absolutely worth it.

It was all I had imagined for my BIG birthday treat, with hiccups. I loved the room , so stylish and characterful but best of all was the courtyard. The fountain, the views and the ruins it was so romantic. Breakfast and lunch were great I did have a problem with the cod dish, even when re presented to me. I very much appreciated the birthday treats and wishes from the hotel. On our first morning there was no water, so no shower, no hair wash nor hands either! This wasn’t fixed until early evening. No ones fault it was a main leak but no effort to provide water to us or to compensate. Considering it’s a five star hotel and rather pricey we thought more could have been done to ameliorate the inconvenience.

We stayed 2 nights here at the end of our Andalusia trip. The property is very attractive from an architectural and décor perspective, feeling grand and stylish in the common areas, with well-appointed and comfortable rooms. On the whole, we enjoyed our stay but on the basis of the hotel’s own marketing that it is “the most exclusive 5* hotel in Malaga”, having read great reviews, and considering the price we paid for our stay, our expectations were set pretty high and unfortunately the hotel didn’t quite live up to them. Our room and bathroom were lovely and very spacious, but the overall ambience was let down by quite an unpleasant odour, which we suspected was emanating from the drains. Although we raised this with reception a couple of times, they weren’t particularly concerned and nothing seemed to be done to try to resolve the issue (or switch our room), which was disappointing. We also had a slightly mixed experience at mealtimes. The lunch we had on arrival, and the breakfast we had on our first morning (both food and service) were excellent but the next day’s breakfast service was underwhelming – we struggled to get the attention of the staff to order drinks, we had to wait a long time for things to arrive, and when it started raining, they were reluctant to let us move to a table sheltered from the rain. It was a real shame that the service standards were so variable. Otherwise, our stay was fine, and mostly we appreciated the location of the hotel because it was quiet but within walking distance of the beach and the main bus route. The hotel has a very small pool/garden area with a few loungers/chairs but no other facilities so it is helpful to be able to conveniently get to the beach and the city’s other attractions without having to drive/park.

What an amazing stay at this wonderful hotel. The location is in an elevated position in the hills above Playa de La Caleta, Malaga. The views are lovely. We received a warm welcome, given a brief tour of the facilities and reassured that staff would be available for anything that we needed. We had beautiful rooms with very comfortable beds and sumptuous quality linens, bathroom robes and toiletries. We dined on the terrace and really enjoyed the food here. What makes this hotel a little extra special are the amazing staff members. They are friendly, attentive and professional. It really was an absolute delight to stay here and would love to stay again. Overall I was disappointed with our stay, considering this is a 5 star hotel. Positives: - the concierge and reception staff were very helpful and couldn’t do enough for the guests. They really are an asset to the hotel. - the rooms were spotlessly cleaned every day, the housekeeping staff were fantastic - the view from the grounds was lovely - car hire from organised by the hotel was good value and very convenient Negatives: - our room had a view over the carpark and despite booking for a whole week, we weren’t treated to a better position. We weren’t even able to guarantee a double room ahead of arrival, despite enquiring about this. - the aircon was noisy and behind the thick curtains so was only effective with the curtains open at night - the restaurant staff did not offer good service. We had to chase them to take our order every time and were quite rude at times - breakfast was poor value and the terms were a little confusing. The sausages and bacon were poor quality and the scrambled eggs were rubbery - there is no bar, no atmosphere if you just want a drink before dinner - the pool area is tiny and offered no waiter service - the wifi was patchy - the tv was slow and there was no way to connect via Bluetooth or cast from phone - the room had no floor length mirror - travelling to and from Malaga was more arduous than I’d hoped. Walking is a chore after the first couple of times so involves taxis. Even the scooter / bike hire points were a long walk. - local cafes and restaurants in the very close by area weren’t great quality Next time we travel to Malaga we will undoubtedly stay elsewhere, I would definitely not return to this hotel.
