We have just returned from a weeks holiday at the Sentido Amounda Bay Hotel. We are a family of 3 (including an 8yr old child) The hotel itself is quite small and immaculately clean. Our room (531) was in the newest part of the hotel and had views overlooking the bottom pool, which is the nicest of the two pools in my opinion, plus it had a beautiful backdrop of the mountains. The room was very modern, clean, spacious and had a massive double balcony. It also had aircon, but we didn't find it very effective (but that may be due to our user-error?) The food was some of the best we have had at an all inclusive hotel. Plenty of choice and something for everyone. The highlight of our day was meal time. There are 3 bars at the hotel, but as a wine drinker, I was very disappointed at the quality of the wine as it was on draught (ie. through a beer tap). There is an extensive cocktail list on offer, but the ones included on the all-inclusive package seemed very weak and not particularly great. The local draught beer is drinkable, but again very weak and I noticed a few people ordering bottled beer (which was not included on the all inclusive package). Also, if you are expecting plenty of entertainment, this probably isn't the hotel for you. At most, during the day there was music played through the speakers at the pool bar from the local radio station and at night, they had a singer and a guitarist (but not every night!). Nothing for children to do, other than playing in the pool during the day. On the subject of the pools, most sunbeds at the nicer of the two pools were all gone by around 7am!!!! So if you are expecting a nice lie in each day, forget it. Luckily for me my husband is an insomniac, so we managed to get a decent sunbed every day. Outside of the hotel there are a few bars, restaurants and shops within walking distance and the nearest beach is located approximately a 10 minute walk away. We did visit the beach one afternoon, but didn't stay long as it seemed dirty/unkept and the sea was too rough for our child. Plus there were some massive industrial looking red & white chimneys just off the beach which were a bit off putting. To summarise, if you are simply looking for a 'fly & flop' holiday with good food then this hotel is worth a visit. However, if you are expecting plenty of entertainment, nice beaches, decent alcohol, cultural enrichment etc, then I would give it a miss.
