Il faut toujours regarder le côté positif et les avantages, chambre originale avec les pavés de pierre dans un cadre de campagne profonde mais la surprise, les musiciens le soir, bonne ambiance, un restaurant avec les bases de la Crete en matière de restauration, produit locaux. Un petit déjeuner copieux.

Die Betten sind komplett durchgelegen, man spürt jede Feder. Jede Nacht eine Hochzeit bis 5 Uhr morgens. Trotz Kopfhörer war die Musik zu laut und man konnte nicht schlafen. Dazu mussten wir als Hotelgäste unten am Berg auf einer Schafswiese parken, weil die 1.500 Hochzeitsgäste alles zugeparkt haben. Wir sind vorzeitig ausgecheckt um schlaf woanders zu finden. Erholung war nicht möglich. Die Anlage ist sehr schön, die man jedoch auch bei Tage besichtigen kann. Es fahren auch regelmäßig Touristenbusse hoch, daher ist es umso schlimmer, dass unser Zimmer nach der Reinigung nicht abgeschlossen wurde.

The most magical place ever everyone was amazing from owners to there children, the food was fantastic and plenty of it The apartment had some incredible views and we woke with a great sunrise Everywhere was very clean and the shops on site were well stocked with great gifts and some amazing art

Ho alloggiato qui con il mio compagno 7 giorni Villaggio molto rustico con tanti colori. Bella piscina pero con pochi sdrai a mio parere Colazione molto abbondante, qui ho da dire che secondo me sarebbe meglio un buffet perché loro hanno una colazione prestabilita ed oltre ad essere molto abbondante può non piacere a tutti. La maggior parte dei prodotti ci piacevano quindi non abbiamo avuto grossi problemi. Le camere sono davvero troppo rustiche. Ci sta l’arredamento greco però un minimo sono da rimodernare tenendo comunque il rustico. Purtroppo al mattino quando iniziava ad albeggiare non essendoci tende oscuranti o scuri la luce entrava ed eravamo svegli molto presto. Nel bagno la tenda della doccia non è igienica per niente e nemmeno pulitissima. I letti e i cuscini un po’ scomodi Abbiamo cenato 2 sere e sul cibo nulla da dire, molto buono Offre di un ampio parcheggio, peccato ci siano molti scalini in quanto con le valige pesanti è un po’ scomodo Personale super gentile, soprattutto i camerieri, davvero dolci Lo consiglio per chi non cerca nulla di raffinati

The village is small and quaint. There's really nothing to do besides daytrios out of town, lounging by the pool, or staying in your room (in the AC). We expected to do lots of day trips but then had a change of plans, so we were at Arolithos for 6 days. The pool is great - but it was almost always full of kids. So, it wasn't particularly relaxing or pleasant for other people (not the hotel's fault of course). The room was drab and rather depressing. The mattress was literally the worst I've ever slept on. You could feel the springs just running your hand over the top of the mattress, so every turn was an unpleasant tweak as some part of your body takes across a metal spring. Miserable. I literally took pain pills in the middle of the night so I would be able to sleep to a reasonable hour of the morning. If not, the pain from the bed work me up before 6 am. I mentioned the horrible mattress when checking out, and the young lady kind of shrugged and said she would tell the manager. I hope she did because it is unreasonable to pay to sleep on mattresses that bad. On Friday and Saturday nights, there were weddings with super loud music until at least 4 am. If you are a light sleeper, give it up. The food at the tavern was excellent. The highlight of our stay was the restaurant staff. So kind and attentive.

Just an overnight stop for us halfway to our destination. Otherwise would consider this as a final destination. Very attractive welcoming place to stay with beautiful swimming pool and sunbeds. Just like you're staying in a traditional Cretan village with modern conveniences. Pretty alley ways covered with bouganvillia and views over the surrounding hills to the sea. Bar and restaurant with friendly attentive service.

Located outside the Cretan town of Heraklion, Hotel Arolithos offers charm and sweeping views over the countryside and the town. Dating only from the 1980s, this purposely built village is the vision of a single man to build something in the style of Crete’s traditional villages. His family has kept his vision alive and welcomes guests for a delightful stay. :x: Our room, Number 8, was spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable. We could look out onto the village from the small terrace, which had a table and two chairs. The bathroom is small; the hot water took a bit of time to reach the faucet but when it did, it was HOT! One inconvenient drawback: WiFi was not available in the room. It is accessible from other areas of the hotel, though. This fact is stated on the website, however. :x: Breakfast, included in the room rate, is plentiful and filling. Christina, the lovely manager/waitress at the hotel’s tavern, is friendly and outgoing. Each morning we looked forward to seeing and chatting with her. :x: I recommend a stay at Hotel Arolithos.

Beautiful place, like a scene from a movie, ideal for relaxation, 10 minutes by car from Heraklion. Delicious food (authentic Anogia antikristo!), impeccable service, smiling staff and a real paradise for cat lovers! Beautiful kittens everywhere, spayed, vaccinated and well-fed by the Arolithos staff, who to his credit take exemplary care of them all (even those left there by various unconscious...). On the downside, the rooms need a little renovation or even a few minor repairs. Shutters or even very thick curtains must be put in for the morning light. The mattress could be softer/comfortable. More emphasis should be placed on cleaning the rooms. In any case, we can't wait to go again! See you at Easter!

No explanation was given at reception about the stay. They were friendly, I indicated that I had difficulty walking and we were therefore given another room that was easier to reach. Many items are old and actually need to be replaced, such as the outdoor chairs that almost make you fall through. The room is also neat and nice and cool. We were shocked by the prices in the restaurant. A bottle of Retsina costs on average €5, double here, a small beer costs €4.50. Not normal anymore. The food was mediocre to poor.
