An absolute dream stay! Mamula Island by Banyan Tree is a truly unique and breathtaking property. The rooms are beautiful, and every single detail is so thoughtfully executed. A special thank you to Ahsen, who went above and beyond for us from before we even arrived until the moment we left, taking care of every tiny detail. Big kudos as well to Alex and Mahmoud, Omar, and Abdullah, who provided incredible service and were always three steps ahead. The entire experience was flawless. Highly recommended, and we cannot wait to return!

Mamula is MAGICAL — A unique and unforgettable experience! The staff on the island are exceptionally pleasant, professional, and always ready to help in any situation, making you feel welcome from the very first moment. My stay here, realized through the Artist in Residence program, brought me an extraordinary and profound experience. The initial encounter with the island, particularly after visiting the museum section of the complex, sparked deep reflections on its historical past. It brought about a mixed feeling of unease and acceptance of historical truth. Every stone on the island exudes a special energy, as if telling its own story, and the surrounding peace allows us to truly hear and experience those stories. Once a sensitive mind moves past that initial layer, a powerful creative impulse takes over. Since the art studio was mostly occupied during the day, my wife and I used that time for true rest and to immerse ourselves in the meditative atmosphere the island offers. They have a beautiful beach with clean seawater. You can use the pool inside the fortress. There are three different restaurants with different cuisines where you can enjoy Montenegrin specialties, as well as other Mediterranean and continental-style food. Then, late into the night, amidst absolute silence, I found the clarity and space for full concentration and work. It took a little time to "return" to my core self and engage in the creative process, but I am happy to say that Mamula successfully unlocked that artistic mechanism. When you have the opportunity, you will be able to see the impressions of this stay through the artworks I have left with the organizers. Unforgettable thanks once again for this wonderful experience, and I hope to return to Mamula Island in the near future. Mamula is MAGICAL — in one word!

The Perfect Place to Begin Our Honeymoon My husband surprised me with this stay as the start of our honeymoon, and what a wonderful surprise it was. Mamula Island is a truly unique destination, where history, nature, and luxury come together in an exceptional way. The restoration of the 19th-century military fortress is simply outstanding. It has been carried out with remarkable taste and attention to detail, preserving the building’s original character and historical essence while transforming it into an elegant, welcoming, and unique retreat. Our room, with its panoramic views, was an absolute delight. Every detail had been carefully considered, creating a special atmosphere and making our stay even more memorable. The hotel also offers a variety of beautiful spaces where guests can relax, unwind, and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Every corner invites you to slow down, disconnect from everyday life, and focus on what truly matters. A special mention, with top honors, goes to the entire staff. Their kindness, professionalism, and genuine attention to every detail made our stay simply perfect. They made us feel welcome and cared for at all times. An amazing hotel unique in history, design, renovation and location. 5* plus on all fronts. Every single member of staff made us feel very special, were polite, informative and attentive. The manager spent time checking on us throughout our stay which again says everything about their focus and attitude towards customer service. Location - Amazing and completely unique Service - Faultless Food - High end and delicious Amenities and Spa - Out of this world We stayed for a week and to be honest it’s probably best considered as a two night mega indulgent rest at the start or end of a wider tour of Montenegro. As a base to explore the wider area it’s quite expensive to get transfers as they are by private speedboat. That said whilst a bit expensive we enjoyed feeling like millionaires, being transported round the Bay of Kotor with a fabulous guide drinking champagne and wine a plenty. Fabulous experience.

How do I start… we were due to stay for two nights but adverse weather forecast meant plans had to change. I received a message from the reservations manager to get in contact. Bad news is never easy to give to a customer… but Andjela handled it perfectly, gave me some options, didn’t make me feel I had to go with anything suggested and their was equally room for discussion - but obviously our safety crossing to the island remained paramount. After a few hours discussing with the boss (or Mrs!) we came up with a plan. Andjela and her team put that into action! Instead of 2 night we had one night in summary. But that still required help in replanning our other commitment which the Mamula Island team massively helped with. On arrival (I won’t spoil any surprises!!!) but we felt like superstars!!! Also due to the unexpected changes we were given an upgrade, we did not expect this. The Junior Suite was brilliant. Just breathe taking views at the highest public point on the island and great for sunset. The team… Anton, Ahsen, Andjela (and others….) made it such a special time for us. The food at both restaurants we went to was amazing including the breakfast in the morning. We love history and the museum was a very tasteful touch to the history of the the island. We didn’t use the spa but those we spoke to had said it was top notch. It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity so don’t let it pass you by and visit Mamula Island.

We had a wonderful tour of Manila Island Hotel by the very knowledgeable and charming manager Dushan and had cocktails in one of the bars. Such a beautiful place with stunning rooms and gorgeous terraces. And the short boat trip over was an added bonus. Would love to return for dinner one day!

Mamula Island is a hidden gem! Beautiful, peaceful, and full of history. The yoga area is serene, the sea views are stunning, and the atmosphere is unforgettable. Perfect for a quiet escape or a photography adventure. Highly recommend!
