The Kunzam Hotel(Govt. Hotel)

Hotel is situated on just Atal Chowk , Mall Road. It has excellent location. ATM, HRTC booking office, famous cafés are adjacent to this property. Property is two star and its well maintained. Rooms are clean, have good interior and has good views. The hotel has its own bar. But there are two serious issues with this property. First of all its staff has very poor attitude towards its guests. Front desk office is the most irritating. They keep you waiting for room allotment. We reached earlier and asked if early check in was possible. The front desk staff agreed for that but for more than three hours they kept us in dark they neither refused our request nor they allotted rooms. When I objected and called the manager they allotted rooms with in five minutes. Second issue is poor food quality. We had bad experience about it’s food. Quality of breakfast and dinner is not good. It is below average. We asked multiple times for water in room but water was refilled in our room. Overall if you want to stay at Mall Road only then you book this property otherwise you should stay away from this property. Not recommend at all.

We 2 senior citizens stayed in Kunzam Hotel, a State Government property, from 21 to 26th June 2024. Overall experience is good though there are scope for improvement. Hotel is located where mall ends near the Atal Behari Vajpayee statue. Just below the hotel is mall. Extremely advantageous for old, kids & ladies. Reception ambience is reasonably good. Mr Prakash, Mr Vikrant & other staffs are handling different types of tourists with smiling face & tremendous patience. It has ground & 2 floors, neat & clean. Different size rooms having different rates are there. Rooms are with buffet breakfast & dinner. Rooms have attached bath with geyser & exhaust fans, sofa ,medium size cupboard, chair, table, TV, electric kettle without tea/coffee pouches. No hair dryer is provided. Intercom is there. Road side rooms have mall view. House keeping is very good. Everyday room cleaning is done with change of bedsheets towels & toiletries. Some leakage in toilets should be checked before alloted. Dinning hall is bit small & food items are also limited. Hotel has no lift making little hardships for the seniors. Wifi is not strong. Parking area is about 500 meter away & pickup drop point is about 25 meter from the hotel. Hotel has appointed young ***, Mr Lokit to help for luggage shifting & managing the parking gate. Drivers are provided accommodation upto a certain capacity. Generator is there. The hotel is suffering from acute staff shortage. Staffs ate giving 12 hours duty without extra remuneration so far my knowledge is concerned. Even then staffs are trying to give room service , without lift , without much delay. Himachal government tourism department should look after to improve the service by posting some more staff & can earn revenue from this lucrative tourism industry. Good hotel in Mall Road Manali. Reasonable rent, very good location, good service. Food is good and cheap. Even though a govt hotel it is a recommended place to stay in Manali. Vehicle Traffic is not permitted in Mall road, but this hotel is in the starting point of Mall Road so cars/autos can go about 25 meters near the hotel. Good service, my wife forgot to take a magnifying mirror from the hotel room, they couriered it to my home address.

The staff at reception are terrible. They don’t value you. I went with the family including my 6yrs old. Requested for early check in they accepted over call but denied while we reached. We waited for 6 hrs in lobby.

Had visited in May, 2022 with family (including a kid) ..was a very nice experience..its location is fantastic, just on the Mall and very near to the bus station. In addition, the HPTDC office is right next door, from where we were able to book many local tours. The cleanliness of the hotel, the staff behaviour and the restaurant was also very nice. Definitely recommend for anyone visiting with family and kids.

Absolutely love this HPTDC hotel in Manali, perfectly located at the mall road , Staff at the reception was know their job and very helpful to their guest, check in process was very smooth and room was nice big and clean. The only sad part was food, not at all worth the money, dinner and breakfast both were very basic, test less and cold. rest everything was very good.

Checked into this Himachal Pradesh tourism hotel on our family trip to Himachal. The location of this hotel is just the best. Right on the mall road. Staffs are extremely courteous and humble. They have a small sit out right in front of the hotel from where you can enjoy the evenings with some tea and snacks. Food is very good. Overall a well maintained tourist hotel. The only weird thing is that though we have booked the hotel well in advance to ensure a better rate, at checkin we were informed that we have to pay extra since the rate has increased. Question is why? The staff can't be blamed for that but the authorities must look into this. Even airline don't do this. Unheard of. Having said that will definitely be our choice on our next visit.

great location, right on mall . good and well mannered staff, fantastic food. one of the bright point of our trip. we are happy that we stayed here. prompt room servives, quick checkin and checkout. A big thumbs up

This is a government owned property with all its bad and good sides. Good side is its location. Walking distance from bus stand, taxi stand, on Mall Road... walk in and walk out thousand times while in Mall Road. No taxi fare for Mall Road shopping or dining. Staff are also good and well mannered but hunting for tips. Bad side is the maintenance. Toilet seats are shaking even in Super Dlx Rooms.. Bathroom traps are loose and peeps at you... Sofa upholstery ragged and torn... but sleep was ok with no great views. But for a short trip it provides all at short distance... Excellent location
