Super 8 by Wyndham York

Under significant remodeling so it was very dirty, cluttered, and the room I got had not been remodeled yet so it was in bad shape. Fire alarm lights flashing in the hallway every time I was in the hall that evening.

We had a hotel reservation mishap and due to many hotels being booked in the area for various events, the booking service found this as a last resort. The hotel is under renovation and in the process of changing to a Ramada, which made it challenging for maneuvering and parking. The breakfast area looked dated and dingy, thus would not attempt to obtain any type of breakfast. The stairways were the access to the upper two floors. The front desk manager did give us the last room available which being one of the newer rooms did make the stay a little more comfortable. I feel that once the renovation is complete, the hotel would be a decent economical place to stay.

Dirty room and no service from the staff. Avoid this location when in York, Pa. There are several other hotels ion the area. New management would be advisable for this facility.

Motel 8 was an experience i would wish on Noone, not even my enemy. No respect about no smoking floor and breakfast was a joke.

Several glaring issues here. First of all they entered my room without knocking. What if I had been a woman or had a child showering or changing clothes? What if I had been in an intimate situation? They do not provide do not Disturb Signs, after they tried to enter with out permission. They knocked on my door no less than 5 times to try and turnover the room even though I was staying another night. I told them I didn’t need service and was trying to sleep. I made it very clear not to attempt entry again. Then they started knocking AGAIN to install soap dispensers in the shower (because they’re too cheap for travel soaps and shampoo). I told them I needed to sleep but they insisted they come in and install them right then. This could have been done before after my stay. This hotel is in the middle of a renovation and in general a huge mess. No amount of repairs can fix the owners and employees complete incompetence and lack of basic hospitality protocols. They are completely inept at running even a low level cheap hotel, and from my experience this is an unsafe place to stay as evidenced by the staff’s borderline criminal lack of boundaries. Instead of remodeling spend that money on training yourselves in basic hospitality management. You can tell this place is cutting corners any way they can. They don’t even have cable, you get the free Samsung TV channels that come with the TV! Cheap to the point of self sabotage. Do Better!

This hotel clearly had bedbugs from the bites I had the next morning and nothing was done to give me a refund...like it was my problem??!

They had advertised breakfast included. They have not had a breakfast for over a month false advertising.

The receptionist was great. There was strange smoke smell in the hallways.

Most of the second floor rooms were gutted and under renovation. Building materials in the hall that you had to walk around. We could not get the remote to work for the TV. The hotel was not what we thought it would be. We have family in York and would never stay there again.
