A two and a half hours drive through picturesque roads brought us to this nature camp, right in the middle of a jungle, with the beautiful Cauvery river flowing by its side. This place is not a luxury resort , so one would have to bear the authentic jungle feel, monkeys around, no-Ac, and slightly irritating for city-dwellers like us, hoards of insects, small and tiny, specially in the evenings. This place is not really suited for the elderly, as one has to walk through uneven roads, even to reach the river one has to walk quite a lot through sloping surface. The surface is not wheelchair-friendly either. The dining room is also quite far, not walkable for the elderly at all. However as we were staying in the tents, the camp people very graciously arranged transfer through jeeps. If you must travel with the elderly, you must books the log huts, that are nearer the dining area. The tents are otherwise spacious , with big attached bathrooms. All non-ac though. If you are looking for an authentic jungle feel, this is the place to be. At night, wild boars and herds of deer roam around. The place is not too well-lit, so walking till the dining area under torchlight is another experience altogether. With extra charge, one can take part in adventure activities such as kayaking and zipline, the kids really enjoyed. Included in the adventure camp package is coracle ride on the Cauvery, very beautiful indeed. The food is good, has enough variety both in breakfast and dinner. There is a nice barbeque pre-dinner, only insects kind of played spoilsport. We live in the comforts of the city, used to an airconditioned, swiggy-instamart delivery existence. Spending even a day in these camps brings us, and specially the kids, closer to nature. Even for a small time period, we get an opportunity to live a life away from pollution, noise, mobile network (only available in the dining area), netflix, and television. This detox is surely better and recommended than any kind of detox concoctions.
