Selong Selo Resort and Residences

We loved EVERYTHING about this place :) The Fairy-tale Avatar 2-like turquoise ocean & mountain views from all over the resort, the delicious food, attentive welcoming & fun 5*+ service, the tranquility, the nature, the beautiful landscaping, the high-level gym, the long infinity pools, our villa was stunningly designed, super clean & comfortable throughout, and much more. Even better it's all done sustainably - so important these days - no single use plastic, refillable shower products, bamboo toothbrushes, free cold & hot water dispensers in your villa and throughout the resort, as well as on site recycling, food grown on site with permaculture!, soil regeneration projects & solar energy. Wifi is excellent, showers are great. The main beach is a gorgeous bay with beautiful soft white sand, some great dining spots and gentle waves - yet still has a very remote feel. You can see buffalo trekking calmly down the beach at the right times. We were so impressed with this place in so many ways, we'll definitely be back - among other things I got fitter, healthier, more relaxed and mentally clear every day I was there. 6 stars :)

Not what it used to be !! We stayed at this place after having such a lovely experience previously. However, this stay was very disappointing. We opted for upsell to the 5 BR villa on check-in which looked lovely in the pictures, but were stuck with a villa that stunk of sewerage the whole time! We reported it and to the credit of the villa manager he tried to get the problem fixed but unfortunately the problem remained until we checked out. It is understandable that problems can arise at times, but what was most disappointing is that despite our grievances, all we were offered as compensation was the difference between our original booking and the upsell amount. Management of the resort did not bother to attend to us and would send the villa manager each time even though the problem was not fixed. The ground staff Phian, Abul and our villa manager Juna were nice and attentive and did what they could, but the resort management on this occasion was very poor. This has turned us off returning anytime in the near future which we are sad about. Hopefully management pick up their game and make this place worth it like it used to be.

This property had the best view I have ever seen. Set on a high point the view of a beautiful bay with a lovely crescent beach only gets better at night when the shrimp fishermen turn on their lights and you are seeing stars above and below you. The interior of the villa was exceptional as well. Great bed, great pillows, excellent shower and comfy seating inside and large outdoor area with your own private pool. We ordered a lovely meal delivered to our room ( I recommend the coconut mojito ) because we didn’t want to leave it. The next morning we had a huge ( included ) breakfast at the restaurant that was excellent and freshly prepared ( not your usual buffet ). Our stay at Selong Selo in Lombok was truly unforgettable, thanks to the breathtaking views, exceptional attention from the staff—particularly Brad, Tim, Bobbie, and Janu—and the delicious food. Waking up to panoramic vistas of the ocean surrounded by lush greenery was magical, and the staff's genuine care in ensuring our stay was comfortable and memorable, with recommendations for activities both in and outside the resort, made our experience uniquely delightful. The food was a highlight on its own, offering a fantastic selection of local and international dishes that were both delicious and beautifully presented.

Stay at 10E Samsara Vills. Best villa with the best staff. Vehicle provided to ferry us between lobby and villa. Upon arrival, we were given drinks for free. Free WiFi is also available in the lobby and villa. The aura restaurant in the lobby serves good food. Desert such as brownie was exceptional. The villa itself was huge and cames with infinity pool, barbacue pit, gym, rooftop 360 view of lombok, pool table, lounge area outside and movie room. Service was excellent. Whenever we encountered a problem, the staff would immediately come and help us. Monkeys sometimes hang out outside our villa which is a great addition. Spa just a walk down from the villa. Selong belanak beach is just 15mins from the villa and the hotel provides free transport for this, the villa is in southern lombok so makes sure you are prepared to stay and enjoy the luxurious villa instead of driving to town daily as the commute is an hour at least. The staff stood at the exit to wave us goodbye which was a nice touch and thoughtful gesture, the staff always helped with a smile.

The staff was so nice and accommodating. The food and cocktails were impressive and the view from the clubhouse and villas can’t be beat. The prettiest and cleanest beach I’ve ever experienced in Indonesia. Will be back again soon! Thank you!

Had books through ******* for multiple nights - horrible mistake. ******* is the worst and can't seem to provide customers with any support or service. This property is unfinished, construction and dirt lots on both sides of the "villa" was so far from the front desk, main lobby, other amenities that it was a 5 to 10 min drive. this had to be requested in advance and was only available during certain hours. Impossible to walk, steep hills and bad road conditions on this property prevent you from walking it yourself. Dead lizard in the bathroom, smoke detector started beeping at 5 in the morning. Had to deal with ******* to get out of the property since the front desk never addressed the smoke detector. WASTED A DAY and was not refunded for the day I was woken up at 5 am by the smoke detector. Lessons learned. Never using ******* again and do more research on properties before booking.

PROS: Nice villas, plenty of space, amazing views. CONS: Location is in the middle of nowhere. Furniture and details are somehow left out, you feel like a potential customer to whom they want to sell a villa (maybe that's their real goal) Personnel is kind, but services are inefficient and really not at 5 stars level: restaurant repetitive and messy (although we communicated our orders a couple of hours in advance), villa cleaning and service not careful (they took away by mistake an item belonging to us from my villa, I'm still waiting for them to send it to my home) As reported in other reviews, the route from the Lobby to the Villa is steep and not lighted - I personally fell in a side gutter at night, with some abrasions and substantial damages to my clothes

Nice Villa but not a Luxurious Experience. Stayed here during Motogp season of 2023. We booked the 4 bedrooms villa for 9 people for 5 nights. Let’s start with the pros: 1. The Villa is very comfortable. I love how spacious it is, even for 9 adults. All the airconds were working well, which is so useful against the extreme summer heat. And the view is amazing!! 2. The staffs are super friendly and helpfull. Now to the cons: 1. The Villa did not have a TV, except one in the room with bunkbed. I get that they perhaps do this on purpose. But it would be nice to have one in the living room. 2. The route from the Lobby to the Villa is super steep and extreme. To make it worse, they don’t have enough lighting along the route. It is so troublesome. They do provide shuttle service from the lobby to the villas. Sadly the shuttle stop at 22.00 pm. 3. The breakfast is a la carte, which is fine. But the menu is always the same choices. You’ll get bored after sometimes. And you’ll notice that nothing seems to be made with premium ingridients. I was really surprise that if you want to have breakfast in your villa, they charge you with extra fees. This is so weird, given they provide free shuttle services from the lobby to the villas. 4. The ammenities in the villa is so basic. No razor, no shaver and no umbrella. The soap, shampoo and conditioner were put inside these cute ceramic bottles with wooden lits. Which i think it’s dangerous to put something so fregile in the shower. I do expect some famous brand toileteries, but instead I don’t know what they put in there. 5. There are lots of bugs. From ants to spiders, you name it you’ll have it there. In your villa. 6. All the curtains in our villa was a sheer white curtains. This is super troublesome as we are a group of friends and some of our friends wears hijab. They don’t feel comfortable removing their hijab, even in their bedroom as the curtains are see through. 7. The road to the Villa is not for the weak. Especially if you arrive late at night, like we do. THERE IS NO SINGLE STREET LIGHT in the narrow road for at least 8-9km. 8. Our 4 bedrooms villa have 4,5 bathrooms but no single bathtub. Not even in the Master Bedroom. Overall it was a nice stay, but it is far from a luxurious experience. Had it not been a Motogp season and all other accomodations were full, I don’t think I’m going to choose to stay here.
