We have stayed here many times over the years and we have seen many changes. This visit was to celebrate our 20 year anniversary. We stayed in an upstairs Treehouse this time for 5 nights. Unfortunately manager Brian Rose was away but we managed to catch up with manager Lina Bell. I always look forward to the “Onion Soup” entree at dinner and we love listening to the local band play. The cocktail/drinks menu is fabulous and so reasonably priced. We will definitely return again to Coconuts – our favorite resort!!..

Coconuts is a beautiful boutique resort with a picturesque setting with amazing ocean views. We stayed there for 5 nights and it was probably my favorite beach resort I have ever stayed in. It has a pool with a swim up bar, a nice restaurant and a nice beach. It’s not some mega resort with 4 pools, 6 restaurants. It has a little over 30 rooms and its size gives it its charm. The restaurant has good food and a large enough menu with daily specials so we dined there every night. Separate from the resort is a small beach shack bar/food place that is an easy walk if you want to leave resort. Samoa is not over touristed yet, it a very scenic island. The staff were all very nice, I could not recommend this place more, and the ocean views are amazing.

Me and my partner had stayed in the bungalows room at coconuts resort, which was extremely pricey, but had the most beautiful views for both day & night. We got to experience the most beautiful sunsets and sunrises from our bed, as well as seeing the full moon during the night as well. The bungalows were a little walk from the restaurant, so If youre thinking of wearing your best shoes/ heels to dinner, don't. It's quite a trek from the room through the sand, even a walk from the smaller rooms go through the sand, a walk from the villa to restaurant/ front desk provides a paved path tho. Not complaining, i quite liked the scenic walk :)) The food was also quite pricey especially the dinner menu. Our dinner honestly just tasted cheap/ defrosted almost. We had quite a variety of dinner options from the steak, to the snails, chicken and seafood and it just didn't really stand out for me, but the deserts were delicious. Lunch was pretty decent, & the paniolo breakfast was delicious. The performances were honestly the most in tune with the Samoan culture that I've ever seen. No speakers, no pre recorded voices, no microphones. Just song and dance through voice and movement. It was beautiful, as well as the siva afi. I've seen many performances at many resorts in samoa and theyre all somewhat westernised, but coconuts resort had portrayed the Samoan culture, in their own beautiful way. Speaking both in Samoan and English tongue, & including all guests to take part in the performance that night. We didn't really take part in the activities available other than snorkeling, but there was plenty there presented to us to choose from, from tours, to boat rides, kayaks, swimming with turtles etc. We mostly just enjoyed the view and warm sun most days. In conclusion, I'd most definitely recommend the bungalows to couples, the resort and views was absolutely stunning. It is on the pricey side but was most def worth it. Room comes with aircon, spacious fridge, tea and coffee station, very spacious bathroom sink area, beautiful deck outside with chairs and table, and more. Thank you coconuts resort for having us, will most def come again !

Very Disappointed!! The service was incomprehensible. We arranged in advance of our dietary requirements but every single day we had to remind the staff in the restaurant. The menu selection was simple but extremely over priced. You were told what you couldn’t have, rather than what was available. E.g. No Lobster No Tuna No Strawberries We had to wait up to 20 minutes for our meal. E.g Poached eggs on toast. We received poached eggs on bread! (Not toasted). We had to ask for cutlery. They were so miserly with their fruit portions in the continental breakfast, it was a joke. For goodness sake they grow coconuts and paw paw on the side of the road, yet we got a slither. We had to ask for tea, coffee, sugar, milk for our room. Every single day! The towels were threadbare. The room floor was dirty. The resort was in disrepair, old and shabby. I will be telling our travel agent of our experience. A couple of the staff were good but most of them were not very friendly and miserable. We felt we were a burden to them. We tried to stay positive about our experience but each day brought a new disappointment. The only highlight was swimming with turtles. I feel vindicated in my comments after reading previous comments.

We had a family brunch at Coconuts. I was the 3rd person to order my brunch, and I ordered fried eggs as an extra. I wasn't asked how I wanted my eggs, but they were lovely when they arrived, sunny side up. I waited for my main meal and when it turned up, it was not what I ordered. So I waited again while everyone else had theirs, even those who came late. By now, my eggs were cold. I pointed this out to the waitress. She took my eggs back and served my main meal. The eggs came back, reheated and hard yolks, certainly not sunny side up anymore! The chef must think I wouldn't notice. The cocktails we order, well I thought they have learnt by now to be consistent. My Tahitian Tickler, was almost alcohol free, with the Bloody Mary, the Tabasco sauce overpowered anything else and for the amount we had, we should have been extremely merry. The Gecko was fine, at least you can taste the alcohol in that. It's a real shame, we spent a lot money that day. The company was what made our day, not the food or drinks!

What a fantastic location and resort layout. Most staff were pretty good and were making an effort during our 9 day stay. That’s where the good stuff ends! Don’t be fooled by the photos - the place is run down. We paid 5-star prices but were staying in a 2-star resort. I would have been perfectly happy with a 3-star resort where the staff lay around in the reception, the pool stayed green all week with grit and sand in the bottom, the room cleaners enjoyed our couch while we were on the beach - but not when we were paying 5-star prices. The owner/ manager inherited the resort from daddy and was a complete amateur host. He just didn’t care, was not open to suggestions or criticism and generally had no clue what a resort experience is supposed to be like. The resort has so much potential but it is broken, shabby and neglected - which is fine but not for the money we were charged. The food from the in-house restaurant was pretty good but the penny pinching contract you are required to sign on arrival stating the extreme limits on our pre-paid breakfast is a daily reminder that you are being screwed. We felt ripped off but had a lovely time despite the painfully inappropriate cost.

If you want total relaxation within a stunning setting that provides a unique Island feel and hospitality, then look no further. It was so nice to unplug and recharge the senses the natural way. Sun, sand, surf and great food. We stayed in the 2 Bdrm beach villa which led straight out onto the beach. The rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable. The decor and lighting really set the tone.

Staying next door at Sinalei we missed their fire show and they recommended next door at Coconuts . The day before the show we walked over and had a few drinks and met I think his name was Tony who seemed to be the manager and welcomed us and booked for the following night . While there enjoying some drinks relaxing overlooking the water one of the guests showed us through his overwater bungalow , very nice . The next night we we were met by Tony , had a few drinks + dinner , a huge menu with plenty of choice and then the fire show . Yes sometimes things can be a bit slow but who cares we are in Pacific and the staff were so friendly and welcoming . It amazes me some peoples comments about service at some of these resorts , remember most are not owned by multimillion dollar companies , and they have been affected by covid and the elements . We are on island time so chill out and enjoy this wonderful island . Many thanks for your hospitality Steve .

Talofa! After leaving Aga Reef Resort and arriving at Coconuts - it was a culture shock. I felt in the first 24 hours that I had arrived in the USA with lost Samoans walking around enforcing "rules". I want to say right off the bat - the resort "way", does not match the Samoan "way". You can physically see in their eyes that they don't want to do things the way they've been told to do them. I will go in to more detail down below (see 6 'Staff'). After speaking about the following fully with the resort GM, and staff, I am writing this review so that YOU, the guest deciding if this is the right place for you, can make an informed decision before going. We booked 3 nights in an overwater fale (specifically Fale Lina right at the end - THE BEST ONE hands down - OK (front desk staff) did not disappoint - there were many turtles!!), luckily we did get a discount on this room from Brian, however very thankful we did not pay full price as I would have been even more upset than I am. I want to keep this easy to read so here are my concerns... 1. The Complimentary Breakfast. 3 measly options - Option 1 - a small bowl of cereal, Option 2 - toast and 1 small muffin (this is the continental which seems to be the most popular, but isn't served as it should be due to lack of training for new hires), or Option 3 - 2 tiny croissants - all accompanied by coffee OR tea, and OJ... you have to pay if you want other juice. Nothing accommodating for guests with dietary requirements. I am dairy free - pretty easy to accommodate - and even with the staff being told at check in, and by me every day, they still organised nothing but an extra banana 1 day. I ended up just ordering food off of the menu - which they still messed up with cheese in my. omelette and butter on my toast. Lack of communication and lack of training, mixed with new staff = a very confusing breakfast hour with no structure, routine or flow. The coffee included is NOT iced coffee unless your order coffee with a glass of ice on the side. Or you pay extra for Iced coffee. Confused? We were. Still are. But we got $30WST back - so a win!! What is meant to happen is far from what is happening, and the GM is now aware of this and will hopefully add more options for other diets. Just be prepared. The other thing I struggled with (which was rectified at the end when I voiced my many concerns) was the poor selection of said "complimentary' breakfasts. Especially having just come from a resort where we paid half the price, got five times the selection and quality (iced coffee, a la carte breakfast, fruit, and a Samoan porridge - see my AGA REEF review). 2. Overwater Fale. First off, this was 1 of the only highlights about this stay, the other being the staff - which I will get to, however even as the highlight of the trip it needs a lot of improvement. One of the biggest disappointments (which we read about but thought had been changed) is there is no ladder or steps down in to the water - so ZERO acces
