Sun Outdoors Marathon

Do not stay at this resort if you have younger children/teenagers. One of the staff kept coming out to sit near the pool to stare at my girls (13) while they were swimming. When we came up to swim with them, he left. So they didn’t swim much, which ****** because that was all there was to do at this resort. Also, there was a giant hole where a toilet was supposed to be in the mens bathroom. No cap or cover. I know bathrooms smell at times but this was a constant, strong sewage smell, so the smell leaked into the womens bathroom and the laundry area. There is no beach access, but there is boat access. The marina has tons of dead fish floating near it. The pics of the nice chairs next to the beach in the advertisement was false advertising. They belong to the resort next to Sun Outdoors. This resort would be nice if you are an older couple that have a boat and no kids. Otherwise, it is not very kid friendly at all.

What a beautiful home to stay, that’s centrally located. The pool was clean and relaxing….. the motel/RV site made you feel safe, no noise or disruptions. The loft was slightly warmer even with ac unit but it did cool down at night (Florida heat) The home had the essentials. The couch/rocker chair had old stains and really needed a good deep cleaning or to be replaced but everything else was clean and welcoming. The loft beds were on a platform on the floor and were very comfortable. The main bedroom was comfortable and nice cold ac. Overall, wonderful stay and staff was friendly, kind and responded quickly when we report an alarm beating in unit. We stayed in #49. We will be back.

Nice facility, especially if you have an RV or staying in one of the " houses." The motel room was ok. Small but efficient. Very clean, but road noise is a little annoying. Everyone was very friendly and water views were beautiful. It was fine for a short stay. Convenient to good restaurants.

Yes .. fantastic pillows....soft mattress like my Viejo back needs.....great remodel on old mom and pop roadside motel. Beautiful room and lovely Bayside waterfront. Unique property with brand-new tiny home rentals also!! Great dollar value here!!

We booked this place because of the price and we were not disappointed. All the facilities were clean and well taken care of. We rented a standard, full hook-up RV site in August which is considered off-season so it wasn't very busy. The other guests were very considerate. We were not able to have a fire pit on our site but there are several gas fire pits near the tiki pavilion. The sea wall at the marina is a great place to sit and watch the beautiful sunsets. The location is right in the middle of the Keys and within a short drive to Key West or Key Largo. The staff was great and very helpful. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Highly recommended.

This is a great location and if you get one of the little houses you have privacy not having to share walls and from your family with the separate rooms. It was the middle of our trip so I took advantage of the laundry (bring quarters). They also provide beach towels, dish soap, wash rag, and linens. The pool was in regular use, but people seemed to rotate through so it never felt full. The house was very clean as was the shower building. Highly recommend, especially if you are sensitive to other people's noise.

The resort was good, however, Chris Gallant and Jim Mann were excellent. They were always front and center, always ready to help and go above and beyond. Always able to answer questions in an honest way and always had a smile and a hello. Our sweet puppy babies, Otis Ray and Olive Rose loved Jim and the treats he made sure they had on a daily basis. We will rebook when we pass through again! Thank you CHRIS and JIM for making our stay great!
