Zebra Kalahari Lodge

Leider war für unsere Rundreise hier nur eine Übernachtung vorgesehen, wir wären gerne etwas länger geblieben. Unser Bungalow hatte einen tollen Ausblick in die Kalahari, obwohl sich der Vorhang nicht ganz öffnen ließ. Der Weg zum Bungalow war komplett unbefestigt (loser Sand), ein Rollkoffer und offene Schuhe sind hier eher unpraktisch :-) Wir hatten einen wunderbaren Sundowner-Drive, bei dem wir viele Tiere zu sehen bekamen, darunter sogar zwei Nashörner! Als wir nach dem sehr guten Abendessen zurück in unseren Bungalow kamen, fanden wir sogar Wärmflaschen in unsrem Bett vor. Vielen Dank für den tollen Service.

We always come here alone or with friends from Europe (at least 2 nights). Great red dune landscape, great evening trips, great service/staff. Despite payment problems with Booking, communication with the lodge was good.

We were there for two days. The food was a disaster. After a tour group of around 30 people arrived, we were all given Oryx fillet for dinner, which turned out to be a tough rump steak. The same thing happened the next day after the group left, under the name of springbok fillet. We were kicked out of the sundowner tour after the tour group arrived, despite having registered early and agreeing to it. We do not recommend this lodge and will not visit it again.

A wonderful night in this lodge in the middle of the Kalahari. You sit in front of the pool and look out over the orange desert, where the animals came to drink a few meters away. Unfortunately, most of the animals were very emaciated because it hadn't rained for a long time and the animals couldn't find any food. Although it is the rainy season, all the rivers have dried up and the water holes are bone dry. Just sad. The sundowner drive with our guide Andreas was a great experience. We saw giraffes and rhinos up close. The crowning glory was a wonderful dinner, lovingly prepared. We would come back to this lodge anytime and will fondly remember this one night.

We booked the lodge on the first day of our two-week trip and were immediately overwhelmed by the beauty of the landscape, the friendliness of the staff and the hotel's fantastic facilities. On the way there we saw lots of springboks, ostriches and several types of antelope. Then you arrive in the afternoon, are served coffee and cake and sit with a view of the pool, the desert and a watering hole where springboks, zebras, various antelopes and lots of poultry are constantly gathering. Some of the animals even drink from the pool, which is directly below the terrace. It is an incredible experience to experience the wildlife so close and in its natural environment. There is even a tame zebra that was bottle-fed as an orphan. The food and accommodation were excellent, the service super friendly and accommodating. The Bushman Walk early in the morning is also highly recommended, as it gives you a whole new insight into the habits of the local tribe, the San. We could have spent weeks there, just sitting on the terrace, eating well and watching the animals. An absolute must for every trip to Namibia and already a highlight of our vacation.

Perhaps the most beautiful lodge on our trip on December 23rd. Only a few comfortable rooms with a view of the beautiful Kalahari with red sand and green trees. From the dining terrace and the pool you can see the busy waterhole. Everyone was very friendly. The food was good with free cake in the afternoon. Fantastic safari in the afternoon followed by a sundowner in the desert! Great!
