Courtyard Marina del Rey

Overall a pleasant stay.

I had an incredible stay at the Courtyard Marina del Rey and cannot recommend it enough. From the moment I arrived, the service stood out—but what truly made the experience exceptional was the manager, Mark. He is absolutely amazing and went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. His level of care and attention is rare and genuinely appreciated. The property itself is beautiful, with stunning marina views that make the entire stay feel relaxing and elevated. One of my favorite touches was that they offer complimentary bikes and kayaks, which made it so easy (and fun) to explore the area right from the hotel. Breakfast being included was another great perk—convenient and a perfect way to start the day before heading out. The staff across the board were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which really adds to the overall experience. And the on-site restaurant is a hidden gem—they have an amazing, very special in-house bourbon that is the real hidden gem at this hotel restaurant and bar. Very unique. Overall, this hotel delivers on every level: service, amenities, and experience. I will absolutely be back.

Other reviewers have complained mightily about the prices at this Courtyard so we'll be brief. We stayed in the least expensive room (no view) for one night and paid more than $400, which included mandatory valet parking for $49 A NIGHT. We bought no food or drinks because the prices were ridiculous. The hotel itself was fine — our room was clean, the lobby is attractive, the desk clerk we dealt with was friendly — but the value was so poor that we'll never stay here again.

Not business friendly. Resort fee and drink ticket shell game. Marina Del Rey (MDR) tax of 10+ % that is undisclosed. Approached leadership and they cleared some of the barriers, thankfully. Initially a drink ticket would not cover a beer? Only well liquor. How weird, well liquor is the rock guy stuff.

The hotel's onsite valet service that guests are required to use at an outrageous price of $50 + tax per night lost the key to my car the morning of January 1. After waiting nearly 45 minutes for our vehicle to no avail, we ordered an Uber to drive us to Pasadena for the Rose Bowl parade, which we missed most of since we were so late. The valet and hotel desk attendant assured me the Uber cost would be covered and the next day I visited the hotel desk to obtain reimbursement of the $363 roundtrip Uber costs. The desk attendant offered 2 nights of comped valet and 5,000 Bonvoy points and said I would need to email the valet service to be reimbursed for my out of pocket costs. It's insulting that the Courtyard requires guests to use this service, bills for it on the hotel invoice, yet accepts no accountability when a major inconvenience is caused through no fault of the guest. After insisting that my hotel bill be credited to compensate for the Ubers (with no billing relationship with the valet service, I was confident that I would never see the money from them), the desk attendant reluctantly obliged. It's offensive that I had to beg the Courtyard to do the right thing. There should have been an additional large gesture of goodwill to compensate for our major inconvenience, and we have not received the promised Bonvoy points. I have twice emailed hotel GM Mark Murphy to discuss and he has not responded. Unbelievably poor customer service and incompetent management.

The photos looked great but when we arrived it was a different story. The location is great the harbor views from the restaurant were great but everything else was disappointing. The halls smelled weird like overly trying to mask something, rooms are smaller and not as bright as the photos hotel provides. We instantly noticed it just was dirty - floors were dirty, marks all the over the walls in the hallways, our bathroom walls were covered in weird stains and to top it all our “partial ocean view” was of a swampy pool of water in a grassy area. I am Silver Elite always get a thank you and sometimes offered an upgrade but no recognition of Bonvoy status at check in.

We visited for a birthday vacation and Adam and Paula were absolutely amazing! Incredible customer service, great attitude, and so kind!! We'll definitely be back and wanted to be sure to give Adam and Paula a shoutout!! :))

Great location walakble to Venice beach and area. Very safe and quiet area as well. Property is top shelf, clean, quiet with great restaurant/bar. Locals love this place too.

Lots of places to walk to and the restaurant onsite was great! Clean, updated rooms. Highly recommend!
