Joy Beach House

Joy Beach House lives up to its name. From the very moment upon arrival, we could feel the joy and pure bliss. The overall esthetic is minimalist, which helps free the spirit, but not without sacrificing a signal detail. In fact, this is one of the most considered and thoughtful hotels I’ve experienced. The staff is more than conscientious and authentically hospitable. The accommodations are beautiful and clean with views to spare. While it may be pricey for the area, it’s more than worth it and anywhere else would cost 3x the nightly fee. This is one of the very few hotels, boutique or 5-star resort or otherwise that I don’t have one suggestion for improvement. Note to Igor: Keep doing you and spreading good vibes.

This was the most beautiful place we’ve stayed in Portugal yet!! From the decor to the smells to the super friendly staff it’s an excellent choice for any traveler. I can’t wait to come back!!

Fantastic hotel, simply could not be better. I stayed in the Sea room with a huge roof terrace with outdoor bathtub and indoor jacuzzi. Everything was stunning, the staff very friendly and the breakfast extremely good. In my experience Portuguese hotel breakfasts tend to be limited, and this was way above average with fresh orange juice, pancakes and bacon and eggs.

There are only five rooms in this hotel- we stayed on the top floor and it was beautiful. There is a private porch with ample seating and a tub with a gorgeous view of the sea. The breakfast is great- with options for vegan/gluten free. The hotelier Igor was so kind and went above and beyond. There are bikes to use and a bike path that follows the coast line. We weren't here for twenty minutes before we booked a second night. I can't recommend staying here enough.

One of the best stays in Portugal so far. The entire house and the room are so nicely decorated and it does create a great vibe of joy, peacefulness and light :). The staff is amazing, always helpful, polite and similing. And the breakfast was great!
