The Monarch Inn

For such a small lodge, the quality of the location and the provided services were awesome. Its a pity I stayed there just a night
River Rock Inn

We arrived very late after after dealing with a shredded back tyre miles from anywhere to find our names on a blackboard pointing to our room & the key in the door. The location couldn't be better for visiting Yosemite & the town is cute & worth a visit. It was great to be able to park up & have a short walk to restaurants, etc. BUT if you can, avoid room 8. It's somewhat separate from the rest of the rooms & attached to the coffee shop fronting 7th Street (coffee shop is leased so not run by the Inn's owner) so at 06.15 we were woken by a strong smell of coffee being ground then at 07.00ish the smell of bacon started. Not too bad a problem perhaps, if a bit early on your holidays! The room was very dark as we had to keep the blinds closed for some privacy. There was a terrace/patio area immediately outside our room which I didn't realise wasn't private until we opened the door to find people eating breakfast & working on laptops right in front of us. This may not bother some people but it's important to know.
White Chief Mountain Lodge

It was clean (except for the trash behind the night stand and the cobwebs on the ceiling), it was very, very small, dark (even with lamps on) and the outside could use some warmth. The shower was so small you couldn't turn around or bend over to wash your feet. The pillows were thin and only one per person. The onsite manager was not very friendly. I needed extra pillows for my disability, but was told no as they couldn't take any from other rooms because of Covie-19. Nor did they have extras as most hotels do. The hotel had only four rooms used out of at least 25 rooms the entire three days we stayed. I asked to cancel my last night (24 hours in advance) because my mother had been in the hospital and wasn't doing well, again, I wanted to leave and head home to be with her. I was told to email the regional manager, Terri, and ask her if I could be credited for that last night should I check out in the morning. I was also told that she may not answer for up to a week. A week later I still haven't heard from her. I ended up staying as my sister told me that mom was doing much better. The 'breakfast' they provided was a paper bag of items because of Covid-19. Unfortunately, the oatmeal they wanted us to make came with a styrofoam bowl to put in the microwave. Though some think it is safe to use in a microwave, I don't like taking chances. This item was not labeled microwave safe. It has been proven to cause cancer and is not biodegradable. It takes over 500 years to break down. Funny, they had a sign in the room to please Save Our Planet, by not having sheets or towels changed. But, because of Covid they weren't going to come and do anything to the room. All I'll get from this review is a ”Thank you for your feedback”. I should have known what to expect from this place. I own a condo that I rent out on Maui. Any review is answered personally, within a day, by me and is taken seriously. I have a five star rating with over 75 reviews. I don't think this place can even come close to saying the same thing.
Quality Inn Yosemite Valley Gateway

CCdiner beat me to it; it looks like we stayed there at the same time. The hotel is clearly understaffed and all the problems arise from there. Everything is dumped on the shoulders of the front desk employees, who are amazing, nice, hard-working people who now had to bend backwards answering phones, dealing with walk ins, putting together breakfast bags, exchanging laundry and towels, etc. But they only can be in one place at one time. No staff at the hotel from 8 pm to 8 am. Our second night someone was trying to get into our room at 2 am confusing it with their room. Our third night there from 1:00 to 2:00 am we heard a couple, first, arguing right outside, then one calling another into the room right at our door, then around 6 am the same couple had a fight, the lady was screaming, banging on the door, smashed the window of their room and took off. Again, no staff is present at those hours. Below is updated list of amenities and services with my comments on what you actually can expect: Property amenities Free parking: YES Free High Speed Internet (WiFi): YES Pool: YES Free breakfast: doggie bags with Nature Valley granola bar, bag of chips, bag of peanuts Baggage storage: probably Yes Non-smoking hotel: - theoretically, but not enforced. People smoke right outside the rooms. 24-hour front desk - NO Dry cleaning - NO - but makes sense due to Covid rules Room features Housekeeping: - NO - but makes sense due to Covid rules Telephone: NO Wake-up service / alarm clock: NO/YES Coffee / tea maker: Not sure Flatscreen TV: YES Bath / shower: YES Complimentary toiletries: YES Hair dryer: NO Room types: Non-smoking rooms - theoretically, but not enforced. People smoke right outside the rooms. Suites: NO HOTEL STYLE Quiet: Heck NO I want to finish what looks like a bad review with a huge thank you to the hotel staff on duty, who one person per shift juggles million things, trying to keep multiple balls in the air. Hotel Management - you need to do a better job.
Mother Lode Lodge

We did self check in since we arrived late on a night where temperatures were up to 90s. When we opened the door, the room felt like a sauna. It took about 2 hours to cool down the room using the very loud AC/fan. The room looked nice and comfortable but if you pay attention to details you’ll notice some things. The room had some small flies that were coming in from the door (there was an open gap at the top allowing bugs to come in). The microwave itself wouldn’t work and the plug had old grease stuck to it. The hairdryer was rusted and looked dusty and gross. Worst of all - there was feces on the side of the only roll of toilet paper in the bathroom. Since it was late at night we weren’t able to order a new roll to be delivered until the next morning. We also found one bath towel with a faint stain of blood. The bed was soft and creaky but still sleepable. The bedsheet however looked like it wasn’t changed as the middle part of the bedsheet was suspiciously wrinkly. Good thing I always bring my own now. All the tables and stools in the room seemed clean. The shower is super small and like others said it’s hard to even bend down and I’m a skinny girl. Also the water gets burning hot pretty quickly so be careful. It was easy to order amenities and the lodge is located near restaurants. It wouldn’t be my first choice to stay here again but it definitely wasn’t the worst stay I’ve had. It’s okay for the price.
