My wife and I are in our mid 70's and very experienced travellers. We don't do the sterile resorts, and prefer to stay somewhere where you get a real feel for the area... The big resorts in Marmaris are some 45 mins walking from the main port and rezzies. We wanted somewhere as a base, with a pool within a reasonable walking distance, and Rosy had it... It seems to be a very small family run hotel - all the staff were lovely and helpful... We never saw more than 6 people at the hotel at any time, so suspect it serves mainly local business people and short stay international visitors, We were the only Brits there... The rooms are very basic and small - we had a room with a double and single bed, the latter used for storing cases.... Note - rooms are only cleaned twice weekly, so towels, water bottles and general rubbish get somewhat stockpiled...and you get very few clothes hangers.. The rooms and general decor looked recently decorated but weren't... lots of marble and ornate ceiling architraves ... Outside you have a small kids and adult pool - circular - approx 26 feet diameter... There is a small covered cafe, and lots of loungers and parasols, but general decor of these was very warn.... Now all this may sound very negative, but actually, we loved the place .. Seldom was anyone in the pool area so had it to myself , the breakfast room was lovely - cont brekkie - melon, cheeses, olives, tomato, cucumber, plus the seriously delicious local bread and honey... local tea is an acquired taste - personally love it from a recent Istanbul visit... The staff couldnt have been more helpful and friendly.. It suited us as 30 mins walk to main town - local mosque with daily muezim chants gave a great atmosphere... A number of local bars and rezzies/cafes, supermarkets.... Easy to get taxis to town and the nearby Icmeler resort.... We were pleasantly surprised at how much we enjoyed our week - and for @£35 per night, who could complain... !? Marmaris itself is a lovely place to be, having had a number of daily ferry trips from Rhodes there over the last few years....
