Great new hotel, very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent cleaning. Cozy bar with delicious cocktails. Sorry that the outdoor pool was closed. Fine spa. Prima breakfast and dinner in buffet form freshly prepared.

The location is convenient with restaurants and plenty of buses nearby but it's also a quite poor and ugly neigbourhood. It seems to be in the process of being gentrified with lot's of construction in the quarter but there are also many abandoned and broken buildings around. Generally it feels a bit sketchy. The Hotel itself is a new construction, designed well and very clean. My biggest complaint however is the service and staff. Unfortunately I was given one of the worst rooms, where the balcony was facing a wall, so there was almost no daylight in the room. When enquiring if a room change is possible, the receptionist blantly lied to my face and said they were fully booked. When I checked online for the same dates and room category, there was still plenty available, even in higher categories. So instead of trying to upsell me or finding another solution to satisfy me as a customer, they treated me like cattle.

A very comfortable hotel with gorgeous views, good location and helpful staff. The breakfast is a very good continental. We had some problems with the shower and toilet whilst we were there which reduces the facilities in the 12 bed room but there are toilets available in public spaces in the hostel. Aircon and fans were controllable in the room which is helpful and new towels after 3 days. The pool was warm even in October. The people here during my stay were very friendly, I stayed for a week and I everyone was chatty and friendly- I came here to meet my friends during my solo travel trip and wished I came alone! Starting with the information - we stayed at So City as a young couple (who arent particularly into nightclubs/bars) to see Matla for the first time over a week. I have given this a 'benefit-of-the-doubt' rating due to the hotel being incredibly new. We picked So City Hotel because of the value, it was incredibly well priced. I'd imagine this is a strategy due to it being so new but it was certainly well worth the price we paid. On to the hotel as a whole - I feel this is definitely aimed toward capturing people coming to Malta for some night life. Its positioned so that no more than 10 seconds from leaving the lobby, you can be in a bar, and their are some nice bars surrounding. That said, we werent there for that - but this location also meant that finding an evening meal, or a quick early night drink was incredibly easy. Exploring the island was also very easy from here, Valletta was a very short journey, and as we had opted to rent a car, there was a carpark about 5 minutes walk away (Pengardens) which is reasonably priced for over night parking, and we never struggled for a space. The room was very comfortable, and the mattress was perfect and bedding very soft and comfortable. Our upgraded room was also incredibly spacious. The theming is a nice touch and makes the room a bit more characterful and individual. Staying on the 7th floor, there was minimal noise at night, altough id be concerned if we needed to keep the window open.... The black out curtains were also amazing for keep the room dark for a little bit of extra sleep. Constructive criticism for the room would be: The shower tempurture is difficult - the hottest setting is insanely hot (my other half loves hot showers but this was too much for her also) and it wouldnt go cold, just cooler, it also seemed to get colder through out the shower and you found yourself adjusting. There is not a lot of storage at all for longer stays. This is perhaps a by product of it feeling aimed towards 'nightlifers' who might stop 3 nights or so. I would perhaps ask reception for additional hangers if you have plenty of clothes for a longer stay. The mini fridge, altough useful, is not big enough to put larger water bottles in, which can be annoying. The aircon unit is situated in a place which means it blows directly at the bed. I tried to play with the control but there was no way to adjust it that I could find. Im trying to cool the room, not refridgerate myself. The timer on the aircon also didnt seem to work, so setting it the blow for 30 mins whilst i went to sleep just didnt seem to work. The TV is not a full smartTV which is a shame. Just channels and an internet browser, which are never nice to navigate around.... On to other notes: Breakfast is just what you need. Its not an all out buffett where there is everything you could dream of, but there is more than enough and a few items cycle so you can expect a slightly different breakfast each morning. The hotel is in a good location. There is a small shopping mall opposite and there are shops below. It may be inconvenient if you have a lot of large luggage, because the vehicle cannot drive directly to the hotel gate. You need to get off the car on the hillside and walk in with your luggage. There is no service staff at the intersection to greet those who take the luggage. The front desk staff and restaurant service staff are very enthusiastic. The room decoration is relatively new, but the quality is average. The building next door is currently under construction. When getting a room, it is best to tell the front desk staff that you request a room further away.

My stay at the Deep Blu Boutique hotel on the beautiful and quieter west coast of Malta, close to the impressive Blue Grotto and the temples of Hagar Qim, has been truly wonderful. This is a superb hotel in a unique location! For the staff it seems natural to make sure their guests have a perfect stay. And they absolutely succeed in doing so! The rooms are beautifully designed and furnished and very comfortable. If you can stay in a superior room with sea view, as I could, you'll wake up with view on the vast Mediterranean illuminated by the morning sunlight and you'll be able to view the sunset from just that same place. But the ambiance of the hotel is marvelous whichever room you stay in. I hope to be back some time in the future and for now keep wonderful memories :-) Thank you!

My wife and I have just returned from spending 2 weeks at this hotel . I'm trying to find words that describe what is good about it. I've just realised which words i'm looking for......ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING. We have travelled to numerous countries over the past 40-50 years and stayed in many many hotels but our experience at this hotel surpasses them all. The staff at reception, Marine, Maja and their colleagues were always most helpful when asked for information or sorting a small problem. The staff in the dining room, Subina and Nikesh in particular were most friendly and helpful and together with their colleagues helped make dining there a complete pleasure. The food choice was amazing, both the buffet breakfast and the a la carte evening meal. The room (and particular the bed) was massive with all the amenities you needed. We would definitly recommend this hotel to anybody who wanted a stressless stay in Malta.

The hotel is very clean, very hot outdoor swimming pool. The buffet is very repetitive and not terrible. It is better to eat at the map or outside. The hapy hours is not valid for the buffet. Incredible anyway. Otherwise excellent quality price and cheap drinks.
