We stayed at the Walawwa Guest and had a memorable experience. The property exudes a charming blend of traditional architecture and comfort, instantly making feel like we are at home. Set in a peaceful location, it offers an escape from the hustle and bustle, yet is conveniently located close to city. The rooms are clean, and well-maintained. The beds were comfortable, and the air conditioning worked perfectly. The guesthouse also provides basic amenities like Wi-Fi and hot water, making the stay hassle-free.The lady who owns the Walawwa Guest Home Stay was warm, attentive, and went out of their way to make sure every need was met. They were always available to assist, whether it was arranging transportation, offering local travel tips, or ensuring a smooth check-in and check-out process. We have asked for homemade meals and those were a real highlight! Breakfasts were delicious with a variety of local food options. The authenticity of the Sri Lankan food stood out, and I highly recommend a traditional meal during stay.What sets Walawwa apart is its tranquil atmosphere. The lush garden and outdoor seating areas provide a serene environment for relaxation. If you’re lucky, you might spot some local wildlife or enjoy a peaceful moment in the garden. The rates are very reasonable considering the quality of service, comfortable accommodations, and the relaxing atmosphere. One of the best places to stay around Matale. A place with good facilities and not far away from the town. The owner has modified an old Sri Lankan walawwa and made something unique out of it for an affordable price. The price is reasonable and you can book the whole property for your group.

If you like to rewind in a serene peaceful environment with your family and friends its a great place…Experience the nature at it best too… Loved the experience.. The food was delicious and they accommodated our requests for children and other dietary requirements

I can not expect a better place for the price I paid. It was an awesome experience. Host was really friendly and caretaker is an innocent kind person. Very calm surrounding. Rooms were very clean and had all what we needed. Walawwa architecture is also a highlight.

Very high value for money. 1800 century walawwa house surrounded by nature. Staff if super helpful. Can experience real Sri Lankan village life. Can go on a village walk through paddy fields, also you can have a nice natural water bath from a close by public well with Cristal clear water. Went to a public temple on top of a mountain with a nice view of full knuckles mountain range. Highly recommended

Very nice place with ample garden place. Children enjoyed it a lot. Definitely go again if we are going to Matale some day. Owner lady is really friends and helped us finding tuk tuk to visit all attractions. It was built in 1817 and having ancient sri lankan architecture which is really beautiful. Excellent location for budget travel.

Peaceful environment. Traditional Sri Lankan Walawwa with so much of history. Ideal place to stay for short or long stay. Reasonable prices and really friendly staff.. loved it. Ideal for digital nomads to stay for a long period time. Highly recomended.

Value for money is at its best. Friendly staff. Calm and peaceful environment. Traditional Architecture. The owner Lady can not speak English but understands us well. She go beyond to make our stay a great one. Anyone wants to experience true Sri Lankan hospitality this is the place to visit.
