The hospitality of the hotel is amazing. They provided me everything I need, I had to catch a midnight flight and they even prepare me boxes of food just because I had breakfast included in my package. The vibe here is very chill. Highly recommended to have a stay here. Cons: food in general is abit salty. And choice is less

Went for dinner, sat down at a table that suited us as there was no "wait to be seated sign". Very authoritative male waiter looked at us and said" how many are you" "do you stay here at the hotel" when realizing there was just the three of us and we did not stay at the hotel he rudely said ' go sit over there" while waving his hands. Over there was as close to being out of the hotel as possible, seemed to be the smoking section and was so dark we could not see the menu. Food was ok. Ruined our night. The table was not marked as reserved as another table was and the restaurant was maybe half full.

Wonderful place. Beautiful garden and pools, very friendly staff, clean. There are not so many tourists in Matemwe in June. Mostly people from the village om the beach playing football, collecting sea **** in low tide. We can strongly recommend it!

Quiet, boutique hotel in traditional style right on the beach. We had a very relaxing time in beautiful surroundings. As vegetarians, food is always tricky when we travel but the staff at Vila Kiva went out of the way to accommodate us! Really appreciated.

The perfect boutique hotel, my husband and I absolutely loved our stay. The beautiful circular room with private balcony on the beach was amazing. The food lovely and outdoor restaurant overlooking the pool wonderfully located. The staff were amazing. Out of everywhere I have stayed over the years this is still my number one hotel!

The hotel is so quiet, right on the beach, with a beautiful traditional architecture. Looks like a lodge, but feel like a 4 stars hotel. We had half board and the food of the restaurant is really amazing. Every evening we could choose from the daily set menu of fresh food. Vegeterian options were always available. The breakfast choices are great as well. The vibe of this place is so peaceful, the terrace with the view on the beach, the 2 swimming pools are nested in an amawing garden, very well maintained. Finally, the rooms are very spacious and the staff super professional. I came here with my family, will definitely come back with my partner in the future.

We had a nice room with a great sea view balcony. The setting was nice with easy access to the ocean and two swimming pools in the back. Housekeeping was perfect. Really nice place! Two downsides however: the restaurant was ok, but not more than that. Some of the staff never smiled - not a big problem, but an would have been an easy way to improve or experience.

This establishment is what I needed after few days spent in Stone Town and Nugwi. The location, atmosphere is very peaceful and you will be mesmerise by the comfort of the hotel and its surrounding beauty. Breakfast is simply delicious with lots of variety of fresh fruits and plenty of cooked breakfast options to choose from. The bedroom with its own living room and a balcony was very nicely designed. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. This hotel is a Gem.

Villa Kiva has an excellent breakfast and the staff is very friendly. The Apartments und the area is wonderful. My personal highlight was yoga with Farah. She used soothing oils at the beginning which really helped me to relax and soothe my particularly tense muscles. We were allowed to say what kind of yoga we want to do at the beginning. It was the best yoga class I've ever had. It was an athletic flow and a great stretch at the end. Thank you so much for your positive energy Farah, you are amazing!

I enjoyed an upper level ocean view room with a generous balcony for 18 nights. It was an extremely relaxing stay. The staff was exceedingly gracious and I soon felt like family. The beach is expansive with lots to see at low tide. Remember to bring splash shoes. High tide shoos the "Masai warriors" off the beach for a good swim in the waves. There are two cozy pools in the back and the gardens are very well maintained. Chi-cha the hotel cat became my secret friend. I thoroughly enjoyed myself in this Italian owned hotel.

Small boutique hotel in Matemwe that has over the top service. I was there 2 weeks and after a few days they will call you by name. I was greeted at the gate by Mercy the lady running the place with a smile and hug. Facilities are nice and kept very clean. Separate beach area to keep the vendors from driving you crazy. Beautiful views. My only complaint was the food. I am a picky eater who doesn't eat fish or seafood so that ruled out a lot for me. Breakfast was a mix of to order and buffet items. After a few days I was dying for something different but we were not the typical customer who is only there for a few days before or after safari from what I gathered. Staff arranged a couple of wonderful private excursions for us that were well worth the money. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone who isn't a fussy eater like me. Staff made it absolutely wonderful and grounds are lovely. Huge shout out to Mercy, David and Dekker who went above and beyond for us.

We asked the hotel to get us a taxi to pick us up at the airport, we've got the confirmation someone will be there as we were landing at midnight. After waiting 20m in the night the taxi of the hotel never came so we had to take another one from the airport that was obviously more expensive... The hotel never excuse for this and we got no compensation. Be smart, avoid this and go in another Hotel there is plenty much better. + each time you put one step on the hotel's beach you get harassed by locals people trying to sell you things you don't need. Not the good hotel to have some rest..

Beautiful boutique hotel on one of the most beautiful beaches i have ever seen. Few minutes walking away from several dive centers. The staff went the extra mile to ensure we had a superb stay. The restaurant catered successfully to to our gluten and lactose allergies while still delivering superb food. Go for the Ocean view rooms for a stay of a lifetime
