Esperienza fantastica in un posto magico. Grande cortesia e simpatia da parte dei gestori, che ci hanno fornito anche degli utilissimi consigli per le visite. Ottima la pulizia e colazione con un buffet caratterizzato da alcuni prodotti locali veramente squisiti. Da ripetere.

Gorgeous hotel, slightly on the edge of town - 20 minutes walk to the main drag. Our Sassi room was huge and beautifully renovated, with lovely linens and towels. Sadly we had quite patchy service. One receptionist was delightful, but another was quite unpleasant and passive-aggressive. She seemed determined to score points and play various yawn-making power games. For example accused us of being late when our taxi arrived 20 minutes early, also acting insulted when I asked her if she would make up a separate bed for my daughter then complaining the next day that I hadn’t requested this in advance. There were other issues too. Why bother with such silliness when there are so many other hotels in town?

Posto unico ed incantevole nei sassi. Stanza nella grotta bella, pulitissima con tutti i confort. Accoglienza fantastica e gentile. Colazione super nella piazzetta antistante lo stabile, varia dal salato al dolce alla frutta di stagione. Esperienza unica Bravi bravi

This hotel is in a quiet area. We actually stayed in two different rooms because we changed our booking. They were very accomodating. Both rooms were lovely and comfortable. There's a delicious breakfast served each morning, and if you like, you can sit on the patio to eat it. Wonderful, helpful people work here -- Bora was especially helpful in getting a taxi to and from the dentist in town (one of us had a terrible toothache). When we left, we were given a gift of Matera's special bread.

When I say my family and I were wowed by our short stay in Matera, there is no exaggeration or hyperbole in that statement. Part of the wow factor came from our 2-bedroom suite with our own personal CAVE POOL that we did not have nearly enough time to enjoy during our 17 hours in Matera. Big shout out to Bora, who greeted us upon arrival and promptly showed us to our room. Thank you, Bora, for your hospitality and for all of your helpfulness in navigating us to the parking garage, making dinner reservations, and ordering a taxi for us. We will never forget you. The room was very spacious with a loft above that had a king-sized bed and a bedroom below with two twin beds. There was a pull-out couch as well, so the room can accommodate more folks. There were two bathrooms (one with a shower) and a small food area with a fridge and snacks for purchase. The complimentary bottle of wine we were given was delicious and I regret not taking down the name. The downstairs pool area appears to have been part of a spa at some point. As you can imagine, this was a big hit with the kiddos, especially after a day of airplane travel. We were given robes and slippers, which was a nice touch. There were ants on the floor here and there but nothing too worrisome for us given it was only a one-night stay. I did try to make sure we didn’t leave any crumbs out.

Very friendly welcome. Nice property in the heart of Sassi, reachable by car. The breakfast was excellent. Thank you Guido for the present:the bread of Matera, so tasty and unique we appreciated so much. I do recommand Thymus to all looking for local charm and authenticity..

Il nostro soggiorno nei Sassi, per quanto breve, è stato davvero indimenticabile! A partire dall’accoglienza calorosissima per finire all’ottima colazione, tutto è stato perfetto. Merita una menzione speciale la nostra camera con vasca idromassaggio, unica nel suo genere, completa in ogni dettaglio e pulitissima. Complimenti! Alla prossima
