Bad customer service. The room didn’t have stock towels. I had to go to the front desk to get extra towels. The Front Desk employee ( Ashley) could’ve been more pleasant with explaining the non corporate card policy. Corporate Holiday Inns has more card options. I had to use my business card to cover the refundable deposit and then got into the room and there were only a few towels. I can feel a difference in environment and service with new leadership. I had maintenance issue and the cleaning service work in the afternoon which is an inconvenience if there is an emergency in the morning. I recommend better service and emergency on call services for maintenance issues. I had better experiences at this location in the past and wonderful stays at other locations. This incident was worth sharing some much needed feedback.

It's surprisingly good. The location is in the south of Chicago. You can check in quickly without having to worry about traffic jams in the city from down state. The hotel has a quiet and safe environment. The front desk is very friendly. The room facilities are new and quiet. It's better than The usual holiday inn express feels more upscale.

Overpriced for starters. Doors aren’t secure, so anyone can walk into the building, day or night. Bar Louie staff were rancid. Coffee maker in room didn’t work, front desk staff couldn’t have cared less. This hotel is old, run down, and needs a major leadership overhaul. Highly do not recommend!

Very poor experience. The hotel is incredibly old, carpets in the room are so dirty, hallways full of dust and paint in the floors. Overall, needs a lot of cleaning and renewing. The fire alarm went off at 8:00 am -accidentally- and no one explained to us what was happening.

This place is sad. As a Diamond Elite member of IHG, I stay at a couple of dozen of IHG properties a year, so in a five-year, I may stay at over 100 IHG properties. This is the most downscale IHG property I have ever stayed at. It's in a sketchy neighborhood. The mattress and pillows were worn. The interior is run down and battered. Services are minimal. Personnel are nice and friendly. But it's a sad place to stay.

This has to be the worst Holiday Inn in existence! I have been an IHG member for over 10 years and have stayed at a lot of Holiday Inns. We arrived at this one about 1 30 am and were given a room key. The key did not work so I went back downstairs and asked for another key. They gave me another room and this time the key worked. As it is now about 2 am we didn't want to have to check out at 11am so we decided to stay another night. I went back downstairs and asked if we could book another night "at the same rate" as our original room. They said ok. We go to the room and it was a very old room which looked like it was from the 80s. Only one of the heaters worked on the HVAC and it took forever for the water to warm. The outside view was of the back of the building power plant. Again as it was 2am we just went to bed. The "free" breakfast was minimal and the staff were not personable. The morning of checkout I went downstairs and no one was at the counter, I waited 15 minutes then put the key in a box labeled "keys" and left as it was a long drive to the airport. A couple of days later I checked my credit card and found that this hotel had charged me for an "upgraded" room which I never asked for. They never sent me an email receipt. When I called the headquarters to inquire, they told me the hotel would not refund the difference between what I was quoted and the price they charged. The management never called me to explain and to this date I have not received an apology or refund. I never asked for an up grade, they switched my room. My advice is to use this hotel at your own risk. It is old, raggedy, deceptive in its' practices and n trouble not worth the time and expense of trying to get your money back. They don't care and know that even if you dispute it, you won't get your money back or be treated fairly. If I could give them a minus I would.

This Holiday Inn is an older property and also a huge conference property. I am pretty sure it’s also understaffed, which is a universal problem. Our room was borderline shabby. The toilet paper roll sat on the bathroom vanity as there was no bar in the twin dispensers to hold the rolls. The walls need repainting or at least a good cleaning. The good news is that the staff is friendly and helpful.

Had the best experience with Holiday inn in Matteson!! Maya at front desk AWESOME!! Always friendly and smiling!! Everything was great and my time with Maya was great! She made an unpleasant reason for trip good

We really enjoyed this hotel. It is kind of an old-school holiday and where they have a whole lot of things going on in the one building. It is a convention center and it has a nice restaurant and it is nicely located right on a highway. The first thing I always look for is cleanliness in the room and I go to the bathroom first. Everything was very very clean. there was no bad odor, and it was nicely decorated with wide hallways. We had a good experience with the front desk. They weren’t overly friendly, but not crabby either. The lobby is very very very large. We made it to our room easily and the room is a pretty standard hotel room. The TV was a little bit under sized, and, though the pictures were clear, the TV was definitely old because it had some lighting issues on different parts of the screen like it had been Used a lot and some of the bulbs at them. All areas of the TV or dimmer than other areas of the TV. There were a lot of channels though, and they came and clearly. The bathroom was nice and the showerhead had multiple settings and the water pressure was very good. We have plenty of hot water for both of us to shower in the morning as well. It is a nice hotel that is nicely located and we will be staying here again.

When I first walked into this hotel- I was amazed at the size inside. It is very spacious. The hotel was very clean and the staff was very friendly. There is a Bar Louie inside and I am familiar with the chain. Breakfast was cooked to order. Plenty of parking and close to the interstate.

Weather was bad and I needed a place right off the Interstate...lots of little hotels and then this big Holiday Inn that had a Restaurant so I gave it a whirl. Was a great choice. Little older hotel but staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Good parking and they put me by the door on first floor so I could access my car and keep snow off. I needed toothbrush and few things and they were nice enough to give me where most hotels just point me toward a gift shop. Although hotel was older it was clean and the bed and pillows were super comfy. I would definitely recommend...and the burgers from the restaurant were awesome!!!!
