The rooms are great, especially the fully equipped kitchen, which is better than hotel apartments in Europe, Australia, and South America. It is especially suitable for Chinese cuisine. The supermarket is next door. There are tofu, pepper, seafood, and meat. These ingredients are super good. It feels like a kid, it feels great. The people here are relatively prosperous, the people live a leisurely life, the common people play football next to them, and swim and chat by the sea. The climate is very good, much more comfortable than Australia and Thailand, not hot. The plants are lush, sitting on the balcony at night, and the breeze is blowing slowly. It is really Mark Twain who let people enter the dreamland. ”God created Mauritius, and then imitated it to create the Garden of Eden.”

I stayed here two nights whilst doing some business up in the north of the island. The rate was excellent, the staff were very welcoming, room was exceptionally clean, the food was good thanks to a great chef, and all-in-all it was great value for money. Thank you to the team!

The surrounding area of the hotel is really desolate, it is farmland, but it is because of this, the hotel is very quiet, not noisy, I like it very much, the suite is really big, my husband and I are super satisfied, only stayed for three nights and felt that it was still unfinished. Originally, I arrived at Maoqiu at 3 in the afternoon, but the plane was delayed 7 hours due to the weather. I took a taxi to the hotel for about 50 minutes and only arrived at the hotel at 11 in the evening. The landlord and the guy in charge of the reception have been waiting. kind. The hotel is generally clean and quiet. Breakfast is not bad, dinner is charged, 175 local rupees, not very expensive. The place is far away from the city. The next day I was going to buy a phone card. I didn't know the road. The young man in charge of the reception was about to go to school, so he took me there and talked all the way. Responsible for cleaning. The aunts who cook are very good. I want to make Kung Fu tea, but there is no boiling water. They put me a few bottles of boiling water in a thermos bottle, and they will bring it to me every day. The laundry is also very fast. I went out at noon and asked them to wash the clothes. When I came back in the afternoon, I saw neatly folded clothes. They were also cheap. Unlike the next hotel, the laundry was available 24 hours a day, and the charges were all based on the piece. I took my mother on a vacation of a lifetime in May, and after several days of travel from the western US, we finally arrived at the Sands. We were picked up from the airport and the driver was very nice and got us to the hotel, and once we walked in, we were blown away. The reception area was beautiful and the views spectacular. We were shown our room and it was spacious, and clean with great views out the balcony. As we put our items away a gentleman came to give us a Covid screening. (we laughed because he was wearing a lab coat...) We relaxed by the pool, or played in the water and the staff was always making sure we had everything we needed. The food was very good, but some things were better than others. It was fun to try new dishes that are not part of the cuisine at home. On our first evening my mother wanted wine, and Rahja was very helpful and found her one. From that evening onward, he came to talk to her each meal and made her feel like the most valued visitor there. They laughed and joked a lot. He found her a few more bottles during our stay as well! He was by far her favorite staff member. Soudesh was of great assistance to us, booking off site adventures for us, and arranging transportation. He also asked the kitchen to make me some of their banana jam to take home, as I loved it so much. We used the spa as well, and my mother got the best massage, and mine was only mediocre. The beach at the Sands is also the best along that shoreline, so it's much easier to walk on than further down as it bites into your feet a bit. What made the Sands so nice is how warm and caring the staff was. They felt like family and they seemed to really care about you and really wishing you to have a great vacation. We stayed on the opposite shore after a trip to Reunion Island, and missed that, and wished we were back at the Sands. If I am able to return to Mauritius, I would definitely pick the Sands for my stay!

We were admirably delighted with our two weeks spent at the Oberoi - Mauritius hotel and can only recommend it to anyone looking for relaxation, in a heavenly environment and in a luxurious structure, with a high level of services. The escape begins just after booking, some 9,000km away. The reception and concierge team were responsive and very attentive in organizing our stay before our arrival. Vinay, the driver, will be the first face of the Oberoi that we meet. During the journey from the airport, in a luxurious sedan, he immerses us in the Mauritian atmosphere and presents the hotel to us eloquently, which suggests the best. He hands us his business card, making himself available for the days to come. Arriving at the hotel, a personalized welcome with check-in directly in your villa: exclusivity (that’s true luxury!) is felt and will reign for the rest of the stay. The staff ensured our comfort in a very professional manner, while maintaining human warmth: we feel at home, almost with family, but always with the required distance. We felt considered and this constitutes one of the strengths of the establishment. We stayed downstairs and we could hear people in the room above us walking, closing the door, dragging their chair (a lot when they returned from dinner late around midnight) We had bad nights because of this.
Room AC is not cold. Even though it’s set at the lowest (18.5c) it felt like 25c
Overall, it was an ok stay but we won’t stay here again.

WWEIThis time I stayed at the two hotels of Lishi Mona and Lishi Mei'an. The style is still quite different. The sand of Mona is yellowish and very slightly. The sand on the Mei'an is slightly whiter and thinner. Be careful. The walk is still acceptable; the rooms are larger and more modern; the sea view is better for Mount Mona. Sitting in the seaside is very eye-catching. After a day, the hotel is too lazy to move. If you are chasing dolphins, it is also near the Mount Mona. The pool and meals are not as good as the US shore.

The room was really nice - but there were a few things we noticed (which we let slide at the start) - massive dirty lipstick mark on one of our water glasses, filthy lampshades above the bathroom sinks, bed linen that didn’t feel particularly fresh and the robes as well had a slight greyish colour rather than bright white which they were meant to be. These were all minor things at the start which we didn’t even mention to each other but did notice.
We then had our first night at the cocktail bar where our drink was served by the lovely barman (very polite and smily) - as we were drinking we saw a huge rat run across the terrace - we decided it was an island and maybe this is normal (although we really weren’t happy about it). We then were dining within the restaurant and again a huge rat was running towards the table. For us, this is not ok. We asked to move tables as we saw a rat and the waiters barely acknowledged it - didn’t offer any apology and then proceeded to avoid our table for the rest of the night. We informed the manager the next day who assured us he was aware and the rat had been caught, and to “give it a chance”. We weren’t offered so much as a complimentary drink. After dining in the restaurant again the second night and again seeing a rat - for us it was time to check out. Not only is it unpleasant seeing rodents running around while eating but I would say it’s a hygiene issue and makes me question the cleanliness of the kitchen and the safety of the food.
The only concession we were offered was to not pay for the remaining nights that we would not be staying for.
Really disappointing. On hindsight some things we would add about the whole experience:
- Not a 5 star in terms of food, service or cleanliness
- Staff really hit and miss - some very friendly some really rude and unhelpful
- Rooms didn’t feel clean
- Food was average - nothing felt fresh including breakfast
- Quite stingey with water - water not replaced within our room (had to ask for it)
We are now staying at a different hotel and haven’t seen one rat, so don’t think this is “just an island thing” as the manager stated. The service and food are also worlds apart which has really solidified that our review of 20 degres sud as completely justified - not a 5 star experience whatsoever.

GGuest UserWhere shall I start...Our stay way pretty perfect! Most of you know Mauritius for the big hotel areas, so it was an absolute miracle that we found this lil gem on the island. We had a wonderful 9 days at the SALT of Palmar. We loved that it was super tiny, and very familiar, every corner had a special detail and the service was superb. The staff really makes you feel at home. If you are looking for a Mandarin Oriental Standard, then this won't be the right one. But what this hotel had, is a lot of soul and personality. Rooms: Book a room with a sea view. We had one, but I would say that that's the magic of it. You will realize quite fast that the hotel is refurbished, so here and there you see that it's not 100% up to date, but it really doesn't matter. The rooms were super clean, and spacious and had a great personalized interior. Housekeeping in the morning and also for turndown service did a great job. Thanks to the team! You will see that TV is missing and also Mini-Bars, but that's why you have chosen a Lil boutique hotel over a big chain. Beach: The beach is beautiful, clean, and located around the corner, so u don't get the feeling that it's getting crowded with too many guests, what I loved. The pool is nice, but there could be more sunbeds. Be aware that you are on the eastern side, so when u arrive in August or September, it's very windy and may get chilly. While in November, you will be happy to have the breeze. Snorkelling: Yes, you can snorkel, and you will see fish. But don't expect reef-like on the Maledives for sure. Food: ONE OF A KIND. If you are looking for endless buffets and a big choice just to look at, this won't be your cup of tea. The food was just amazing. Very individualized menu, a big variety. We didn't eat twice the same. The breakfast menu was outstanding and so was the coffee (which usually always sucks in hotels). Nevertheless, you have to say that if you wanna dishes outside the included menu or wines, they are quite expensive (even for Europeans). The only experience, where we were not really stunned, was the cocktails at any point. Watery, not really strong etc. Foodservice: A very big thanks to the service team. you made our experience stunning, also the way you took care of my parents and everything around my mom's birthday. OUr warmest thanks to Vidusha!! But also to Vinesh, Med, Vajna and Vashish (I Hope I got the names right) We hop to see you soon!

GGuest UserThis was our third visit to Mauritius and to this beautiful resort, the location and the views are spectacular, having visited a few all inclusive resorts in other parts of the world, this is by far the prettiest, with spacious public areas tastefully decorated.There are numerous staff that attend to all of your needs they genuinely want your stay to be memorable and are friendly and attentive, we stayed for 10 nights and were able to make friends with a number of the Belle Mare Plage team The breakfast buffet is expansive and you may help yourself to as much or as little as you wish, we were very well looked after each morning by Nisha, and Ranooka, who makes delicious omelettes, and I must mention Chef Satish who is a true legend of La Citronelle Indigo was a great place for lunch with an extensive menu to choose from and quality food, the restaurant is well managed by Sam with most friendly and attentive staff particularly Seetul and Akash who provided our chilled and perfectly mixed cocktails The resort main bar is large and comfortable, open all day, with a varied entertainment programme provided each evening, snacks are provided free with your drinks, which was a nice addition. The bar is expertly managed by Vijay and his attentive team, Pascal, Rahul, Rishi, Nikash, Adrien, Fabian, Ayush, Akash, Tanveer, Josh, Lucca, Cedlay, Mevin, Nishal, Yori, Noam, Liroy We stayed in a junior suite, large area, great bathroom and separate shower, very large bed and luxurious linens changed twice each day and our housekeeper Kavita took very good care of us during our stay. We were on the ground floor that allowed us dual entry to the room both from the front and from the patio area, which was spacious and very comfortable, and we could walk directly to the beach, which is of the finest sand . We were all inclusive and paid a small subsidy in specific restaurants, which may not be to everyone’s liking in an all inclusive but additional charges were not unreasonable and the food was much higher quality than the buffet included in the hotel cost. All of our drink requirements were catered for in the all inclusive, cocktails, spirits and wine, including sparkling wine By far our favourite restaurant was LaSpaggia, the most perfect setting, incredibly lovely people, Aki was most helpful, who remember you on each visit and chat like friends, remember your likes and dislikes and ensure you have the very best experience. The crepe Suzette is not to be missed! The two golf courses were included in price so you could book as many rounds as you wished, with transport to each provided by the hotel Upon departure they have a superb departure lounge for late departures to ensure you can make the most of your last day, showers, towels, hairdryers and a comfortable lounge, air conditioned, whilst you wait for for departure time I would highly recommend this resort and look forward to visiting again in the future , Gert Puchtler provides a wonderful and tranquil reso

GGuest UserHotel was excellent. Staff v.friendly and helpful, especially with my wife when I was in hospital having a small operation. Room was v.good and kept exceptionally clean. Brekfast were v.good. Evening dining was good but also many restaurants within walking distance if you wanted a change. Beautiful views over the sea (20m.away!) and the sunsets were great.

GGuest UserAnantara is a very beautiful resort. Decor is top notch and comfortable. The staff provides excellent service and assistance is always available. The resort is a beach front property with a lot of activities. This property is amazing and you won’t go wrong by choosing it. Yusef , Cintia, Karim, Sharonne, Paul, and many more of the staff ( I’m bad with names) , will attend to all your needs.

LLINGFree parking and gate security are in place like all hotels in Maodao. We were just in time for the hurricane. We couldn't go to sea in rainy days. The hotel also had a lot of entertainment facilities. Table tennis, football, sand, volleyball, and pool. The WIFI signal in the room is very weak, only the balcony signal is very strong. I wonder if the facility was affected by the hurricane. The beach is downstairs, but the WIFI signal is very strong. There are many schools of fish not far from snorkeling, and basic water sports facilities are free of charge. The staff is very friendly, the environment in the yard is beautiful and quiet, it is much better than the salt selection we stayed behind, it is worth recommending ~

DDVery conveniently located as it's adjoining to a big mall where one has everything. The staff are nice too, breakfast ok. But the room quality not good, interior not spacious and uneasy to place one‘s belonging. Bed comfy and TV didn't work. Price is great.
