The moment we drove down the gravel driveway, saw the classic stone buildings and entered the manicured gardens, we knew we were in for a special experience. From the stone domed ceilings throughout the building and the stunning decor, to the bubbling river and the feeling of tranquility in this medieval setting, owner Bridgette has created an amazing venue for a truly relaxing and immersive experience. The hotel is peaceful and quiet but literally a stones throw from the town centre of Maussane des Alpilles with its many restaurants, bars, delis, food markets, boutiques, art galleries and everything else you’ll need as a base to explore Provence. Full marks for the location, design and decor BUT as a non French speaking couple there was very little information about how the hotel operated, what it’s facilities allowed or not and what to do in the village! Since none of the staff or the owner spoke English, we got a sense that they weren’t particularly interested or helpful. Definitely worth a two night stay but treat it as a very beautiful B&B and not a five star hotel and you will not be disappointed as the sheer beauty of the building and its facilities are sensational!
