Lovely family run hotel, in central Meiringen. We chose this hotel because of its position and reviews. It is situated just a short walk from the station. The room was small, but very clean and overlooked the square. The only issue we had was that it was stifling hot in the room and the hotel does not have air conditioning (as many others in Switzerland do not). We found ourselves having to sleep with the windows wide open and even then it was difficult to get more than a couple of hours. The breakfast was not extensive, as many of the others we visited during our trip, but was nice and sufficient. The one thing we would have liked (aside from aircon) was the facility to make tea/coffee in our room as in our experience this is standard in 4* hotels.

Came on a Holmes-tribute visit, courtesy of my lovely wife for my 60th. Fantastic place to stay - rooms and food are outstanding. Had an especially good venison meal - one of the nicest dishes I've had for years. Ideally sited for the stunning Reichenbach Falls and the cable car up the Alpentower. Enjoyed chatting with the staff - all very friendly and helpful.

Outstanding food, with particularly tender meat. Conveniently located for the train station & shops. Sherlock Holmes museum adjacent. Outside dining is an option. Friendly & helpful owners. Even a smaller room seemed spacious for a couple of nights stay.

Five of us arrived at the Hotel Victoria, very very late due to plane problems. We were exhausted and starving. The hotel kept the kitchen open till 11pm to serve us a delicious meal, and kept the bar open later to serve us much appreciated drinks. The hotel is welcoming, comfortable and friendly, and so personal. I thoroughly recommend this hotel.

What a wonferful hotel and friendly staff. They really did the extra step to make us feel very welcome and at home. The room was clean, nice and what a fabulous view, we did not want to close the curtains. The little extra details really made a difference, the coffiee machine in the room, the little light that went off during the night if you stepped out of bed etc. Breakfast was good and the food as well. We will come back

Really nice hotel, very clean, spacious room, very modern, excellent breakfast, nice staff, and what a beautiful town!! I can’t wait to go back there! There is nothing wrong with this place!! I simply loved everything!!!! I would recommend it to anyone

We have just enjoyed the most wonderful stay at the Hotel Victoria. Franziska, Simon and the entire hotel team made us feel so welcome. Our room was super comfortable, everything fresh, modern and squeaky clean. The little extra touches were a delight and certainly not the norm in the other hotels we stayed. You can honestly feel the sense of pride and attention to detail, it is reflected in every aspect. The the breakfast buffet is sumptuous and abundant and we enjoyed our fine dining experience. The food and flavors rate up there with our top meals in recent memory. We can honestly say that this has been the best hotel we have stayed at on our European trip. What a pleasure to find a family run hotel - so personal. The hotel is also conveniently close to the station and a perfect launching pad to experience true small town Swiss culture and acess the other local attractions. Thank you for sunch a memorable stay!
