Schwerter Schankhaus & Hotel

It was a small, charming hotel right next to the Christmas market. Very tidy and clean, without any unnecessary frills. The staff were always cheerful and ready for a little joke ;). A very good and plentiful breakfast was offered. We would gladly return if we ever find ourselves in Meissen again. If you don't need luxury, this is the perfect place for you. I can wholeheartedly recommend this hotel.

Uns hat es gut gefallen. Eine top Lage,man kann alles gut zu Fuß erreichen. Frauenkirche gleich gegenüber. Frühstück war super. Parkmöglichkeiten sind allerdings einige Minuten weiter weg. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

A lovely restaurant on the market square in Meissen, with a beautiful beer garden. The service is friendly, competent, and the food is delicious, and they offer almost all the beers from the local Meissen Schwerter brewery on tap. Highly recommended – a must-visit on any trip to Meissen.

The rooms are musty and smell disgusting; there's no proper window for ventilation with fresh air. We were faced with a metal structure and ventilation system that blew foul air into our room all night. The staff member then tried to eliminate the usual odors with a spray in the room. Unacceptable for the price! We expect a partial refund for our two booked rooms! We couldn't have breakfast at the hotel. We were sent to another hotel. The waiter had previously assured us that breakfast would be available at the other hotel from 7:00 AM. In the evening, we were told that it wouldn't be available until 7:30 AM. When we arrived at the other hotel for breakfast, we were informed that it wouldn't be served until 8:00 AM. Dinner at the hotel was bad. The supposed house specialty—chicken—was dry and inedible.
