Hotels near Masjid Al Ehsan Bukit Baru, Melaka Tengah

This is a very new hotel which started their business in March 2023. Wanted to try on the first day of opening but due to some reason, it was delayed till now. It’s a first Marriott hotel in Melaka, so I do have very high expectations from them. As a Marriott platinum elite member, I’ve stayed in many hotel under Marriott organisation. Upon reaching the hotel with grab car, the staff came up to me immediately and lead me to the check in counter, the lobby are huge, and I can still smell that the hotel are still so new. Not much of the guest in the lobby area, it’s a Monday so I guess it’s normal. No suite room upgrade and no complimentary breakfast for a platinum member, although I was upgraded to a strait view room which I appreciated it. It can see a tiny bit of the sea. Apart from that, I guess the room size and amenity are the same. The check in staff told me that the suite room was full… I mean.. it’s a Monday.. and I literally still can see the suite room was available in the Bonvoy app. As I’ve mentioned, I’ve been to many hotel under Marriott organisation. I don’t always get upgraded to a suite room, but it was okay, I do understand all these are subjected to individual hotel policy and it’s all a good will. But I guess the staff could just tell me that the hotel are still new, the suite room are limited and it’s reserved for paying guest. I would totally understand that. But I don’t think it’s wise to you know, use a default replied as member like us, we check on the app. For me, if there’s no available suite room, I wouldn’t even ask for an upgrade. Secondly, there’s no complimentary breakfast, I paid RM70 for the 2 day breakfast. I’ve stayed in a few courtyard hotel, this was the first one that I’ve paid for breakfast, there might be other courtyard that don’t provide complimentary breakfast for guest with elite status, maybe I didn’t stay much enough to see it all. I’ve stayed with hotel that told me that their facility actually don’t offer complimentary breakfast for elite member, but they will just give it to me as a good will on top of my welcome gift. Just a little suggestion, like maybe let the counter staff to decide, if they could slip in some complimentary breakfast to guest with elite status or even guest that potentially come back again. I’m not complaining here, just some of my suggestions. The room are new, nice and spacious, very clean. Nice TV channel selection, view was great. Bed are firm to the level that I like, they offer pillow menu as well. Had very good sleep for the 2 night. Breakfast was very basic. There’s a very annoying flies flying around my table.. how did it come into the hotel, lol. Gym are small but there should be everything you need. The infinity pool are great! Very good view and very Instagrammable. Please visit the pool when you are here. The staff and friendly and nice. Would come back again to the hotel when I’m back in Melaka.

I have been staying at this hotel quite a lot of times, worse each time. Pricing keeps higher and higher, deposit getting much higher(previous is RM50. But yesterday was RM200!), even though I stayed 5 stars hotel deposit was not much like here. The room is clean well, but the lighting in the side bed and sofa bed is totally no more, even though I can't read books on the bed(no side lighting beside the bed). The location actually is not so convenient, the parking fee actually is higher too. Talk about service, not provide service like hotel, onlly check in and check out can consider service. I am quite disappointed why the price rate and deposit rate are so high. But the facility in the room is less than the previous. It's not balanced for the guest. If you want to increase the renter rate, yes can, but must get more benefit for your guest I hope , the tenant can review my comment and restructure again the valuables for guest is based on my concern . **Review of Swiss-Garden Hotel Melaka** My stay at Swiss-Garden Hotel Melaka was a bit of a mixed experience, with both positive aspects and a few frustrations. Starting with the positives, the location of the hotel is great—situated near the heart of Melaka, making it easy to explore the city’s attractions. The facilities, including the pool and gym, were well-maintained, and the overall ambiance of the hotel was modern and welcoming. However, there were some issues that affected my overall comfort. First, the parking situation. While the hotel offers a premium valet service for RM25, it feels a bit overpriced given the alternatives in the area. Though convenient, the cost doesn’t match the level of service provided. The biggest downside was the bathroom design. The toilet and shower are separated by one of those glass partitions, which isn’t the most functional setup. It made the space feel cramped and awkward to move around, especially with limited space behind the bathroom door. The shower glass just added to the inconvenience—honestly, removing it might improve the usability of the space! On a brighter note, the staff were polite and helpful throughout my stay, and check-in and check-out were smooth. Overall, Swiss-Garden Hotel Melaka has potential, but small details like the bathroom layout and parking costs took away from what could have been a more enjoyable experience. **Rating:** 3.5/5

Spacious room with two big single beds and a couch. There are iron, hair dryer, small fridge, electric stove, room slippers, and many more. Great breakfast with many choices. I love the cappuccino the most. Free Car park provided only at level 7/8... A long way to climb from the ground haha. My only complaint is the wall of the washroom. It's quite transparent. People from outside can see you and what you are doing inside 🙊. It's not suitable if you stay with children.

The hotel from the exterior looked really grand. The room was quite big in size and the hotel reception staff were nice enough. We (husband, two teenage children and I) arrived an hour early and were directed to the note that they didn’t have early check-ins. The doorman was nice and gave us an umbrella as it was raining when we were going out. However, the bathroom was not very clean with rotting shower screen because of most likely poor cleaning. The towels in the bathroom were supposed to be white but were brown in colour and stained. Unfortunately, we had to use these as there was no other option, felt unclean after shower. The corridor had a musty odour which was overpowering. Stayed two nights and had put up a door sign to have the room cleaned but no one came around and we were out all day. Bottled water was given on the first day but not on the subsequent day. I’m glad we only stayed two nights as couldn’t have tolerated the place for any longer.

Regular guest at this hotel due its excellent location close to the main tourist attractions, eateries and shopping malls. Room is comfortable and quite spacious. My usual grouse is the tiny shower cubicle that leaves splashes of water on the bathroom floor. But overall, a satisfactory stay.

When I'm arrived, there's a lot of free parking. So i like about it. What I don't like is about swimming pool. I thought there's an outdoor or private swimming pool for adults only. But when I'm asking about swimming pool, all staff said the same thing that the swimming pool is within waterpark that need to pay RM29 for entrance. A bit disappointed because when I'm make a booking, I thought there's a free swimming pool but it was not One more things, Bayou Lagoon Park Resort need to update some photos each of different rooms. Not all rooms use the same photo. Rooms not same as given photos. About cleanliness, I'm sorry. There's scratch on the floor and there's a stain of blood on bed. ☹️

Where do I begin with this hotel…?! Booked for 3 nights via Expedia because the hotel’s reservation page kept declining my credit card but still charging it - will sort this out later. Check-in: was told I had to pay a RM50 deposit in cash when I checked in. My hotel was prepaid online but I have no issue with the deposit, except they wouldn’t take credit cards for the deposit as they apparently cannot issue deposit refunds via credit card. I guess they haven’t learned about placing authorizations on cards and reversing the charges. They have Touch n’Go e-wallet stickers at reception but also wouldn’t allow me to pay the deposit via TnG. Fortunately I had some cash on me or I would have had to go find an ATM to withdraw money. Arguing with the receptionist is pointless since they’re merely enforcing stupid and nonsensical policies by management. Room: basic but acceptable. The remote controls for the air conditioning and tv were given at check-in. I guess the management is highly suspicious of guests and will not leave them in the room. Hot water in the shower was lukewarm at best and water pressure so-so. TV channels have zero channels in English. Guess English-speakers aren’t their intended clientele. Housekeeping does not automatically make up rooms. I was out the whole day and when I came back around 645pm, realised that the room was not made up. By then I had decided to move hotels and forego remaining 2 nights after the first night. At checkout when I told the receptionist about the unmade room, I was told that I had to call housekeeping to clean the room. What kind of half-baked, cheapskate dump has such a ridiculous policy!? I was told that apparently some guests don’t allow housekeeping in and so they just decided to not clean until asked. Amazingly every other respectable hotel in the world has a better solution to this - come back later!! Funnily this ridiculous policy is also not communicated at check-in. I didn’t expect an offer of refund for checking out early. Any hotel whose management is such a skinflint that they wouldn’t even provide daily housekeeping or keep the remotes in the room can hardly be expected to engage in customer service. Oh as a bonus, I saw an ironing board in the corridor. They wouldn’t provide ironing boards in the room of course. The pictures say more than I can. Verdict: never coming back here again if I can help it. Overpriced and does not deserve 3 star rating.

I spent a night here after my talk in a nearby hospital. It is located at the business area of Ayer Keroh, which on the contrary, is not very busy. As it is one of the tallest building around, finding the hotel is not difficult. As the title suggest, it is a basic no frills hotel. The lobby is small and well lit. The room is clean and functional. It was well worth for the price. The issue is since it is fairly cheap, the hotel seems to be choice of the rowdy Mainland Chinese tourists. The breakfast was where they displayed their disorderliness.

This is not my first time staying at Ames Hotel, it's my third time, and it will be the last!! I travel for business almost every week, both within Malaysia and abroad. I have stayed in dozens of hotels, as you can see from my record on the Agoda website, but this has been the worst stay ever!!! I arrived at midnight, and no staff assisted with my luggage. There was a male staff in a black shirt who just walked past me at my car without offering any help, and there was also a pregnant woman (a customer) who just got out of her car to check in, and no one helped her either. The night manager, named FARED, assisted with my check-in. I requested a late check-out at 3 PM because I had an event under my company at the Ames Hotel as well, but the next morning, he informed me that I had to check out at 2 PM. I complied even though I had told Mr. FARED the night before about the late check-out at 3 PM. However, when I was having breakfast at the Merchant Lounge, a manager named JOSEPH told me that I had to check out by 1 PM, even though FARED had confirmed with me the night before that I could check out by 2 PM. I find this completely unacceptable. JOSEPH also mentioned that my room was upgraded for free, even though I paid extra for the suite—it was not free. I found this extremely rude and unprofessional because he did not check my room details before speaking with me. He made it seem like I received a complimentary upgrade and was not entitled to the service I deserved. This is extremely disrespectful, and this is my honest review of Ames Hotel Melaka. Thank you to the lounge staff named DILA for calming my wife and me and providing good hospitality service.
