Coach House Hotel

The inside can only be termed sleazy and uncared for, with confused inconsistency of style and image. I am sorry that we have to concur with the review of Tim W. (October 23). My Filipino wife was met with what can only be termed deliberately spite when she asked for her coffee to be replaced by what she had ordered. I've never before suffered a pre- sugared undrinkable cappucino. I had to go to the next McDonalds to remove the taste. Food was OK but overpriced. We had to be picky about cutlery to find any clean. The sauce containers were riffy and unclean, many empty, conspicuously unchecked over a long period of time.

Awful, we left! Pros...none Cons.. TV didn't work, they gave us a different lead, didn't work. Then gave us another TV and it didn't work..manager said 'what do you expect me to do??' After he bothered to put his pint down and give me any sort of attention. I said it was the ariel. I was told there wasn't any other available rooms and the shops are shut. Bathroom is tiny, no mirror, shower is a trickle. Room is small, bed lumpy and hard and something bit my finger in the night.. ? Midge? Breakfast is awful, cheap beans, fatty bacon, greasy sausage, white toast x 1. I left half of mine. Worse bit....we were in Lightning room. .we could hear every single footstep from upstairs, every creak on every step, door sticks so everyone slams the doors, so we were woken up just after 5am. Curtains so thin all the bar could see into my room, so no privacy, had to hang towels up at the window. We checked out and booked into a Holiday Inn rather than spend a 2nd night there. I won't hold my breath for a refund either. On a very busy road, nothing for 4 miles either way and uber wouldn't pick up from there.

The heated towel rail was not secured to the wall and posed a health and safety risk. We stayed for two nights but we're told that due to staff sickness, we would have to make our own bed and tidy up. The door lock was not secure. There was insufficient room to hang up clothes. They served full English breakfast, but we're unable to do Poached egg or grilled tomato due to not having the right equipment! Cleanliness in the bar area was not great. The staff at front of house were very pleasant. It was way over priced at £99 a night.

Visiting family in the area so very convenient. Hotel is next to a busy road but you cannot hear any traffic within the rooms. Lovely hot shower and cosy towels. Owners very pleasant and friendly with a warm welcome. Enjoyed our stay in Spitfire room.

Great stay, good value for money.

I certainly wouldn’t look anywhere else if I needed an overnight stay in the area in future!

Room was clean although cold due to the weather change!. Shower, unfortunately was unusable, hardly any water pressure, and what was delivered was luke warm. Food, (inc breakfast) was good and enjoyable.

Very basic but a comfortable bed with clean, crisp linen. However, the room was rather small and the lighting in the bathroom very poor.
