I arrived around 9:30 AM for a 2:00 PM check-in and just planned to drop off my luggage. However, they offered early check-in and let me go straight to my room, which was a great help. The hotel's access from Southern Cross Station was excellent, and it was convenient to walk to city arcades and other attractions. The room size was perfectly fine for one person, but I was bothered by how dusty it was overall. It felt like no one had stayed there for a while, as the toilet paper holder, window sills, desk, and even the duvet were dusty. I was surprised to find a sticky residue on the small bedside table that wouldn't come off without a wet wipe. The shower pressure and toilet were fine. From my research, it seemed like a $100 cash deposit (refundable if no issues) was required before staying, but in reality, I didn't have to pay anything.

Nice reception team, allow us to earlier chick in without extra charge. Hotel’s location is very convenient to travel in the city. Not only most living city, but also nice people with hospitality.

Location: easy 3-6 min walk to Southern Cross station and the skybus station which made reaching the hotel from melbourne airport extremely convenient (~40 mins). It's close to many cozy and prolific cafés for breakfast/brunch, lunch. Ease of access to gift shops, electronics, and post boxes as well. Amenities: Gym is available. Laundry with washers and dryers are also available but prepare coins. Security: Staffed during the day, and the automatic doors in the main hotel entrance could only be opened with keycards at night. Good safety. Service: Hospitable staff. Had issues with my room and they were happy to assist. Room: I booked the single room. Quaint and tiny. Room's very dark and quiet at night. Great sleep. Bathroom is equipped with heat lamps and exhaust fans which made super comfortable for a winter stay. Didn't use the AC much but I tried it out just to see that it worked. Runs well even though it's a bit noisy if you're sleeping. Towels and sheets mostly clean. I noticed some stains on the bedding once but otherwise good.

I liked the hotel’s location, it is approximately a 6 min walk from Southern Cross station and it is also near to the pickup locations of most day tours. Minimal bathroom amenities are provided, but I think it is acceptable. I would recommend other guests to bring their own toothbrush, toothpaste and bathroom slippers. Check in and check out processes were smooth and fast. Wifi was working okay from the room. I think the TV in the room is considered as a perk. Overall, for the given price, the standard single room is a nice place to stay for solo travellers.

Absolutely fantastic! Everything, from cleanliness and service to the basic amenities, was excellent. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making for a truly wonderful stay. I'll definitely be staying here again next time I'm in Melbourne. It's also super close to the CBD and the train station, with plenty of shops and restaurants nearby 🍴! The photos show the old buildings in the area – perfect for a city walk.

Overall, not a bad hotel. The location is very convenient; all major city attractions are within walking distance. Everything is clean, the reception/foyer areas are pleasant, and there's a cozy lounge in front of the cafe entrance where you can read a book or just pass the time if housekeeping is cleaning your room. The housekeepers are Chinese women, and there were no complaints about the cleaning. It was nice that they changed the bed linen every 2-3 days without us having to ask. The room is certainly very small, but it's perfectly fine for one person, especially if you're there for sightseeing rather than spending time in the room. The miniature window overlooks a wall with AC units and oddly only opened to a 15-centimeter gap at the bottom. Holes in the window screen (mine had a torn screen on this small window) would be a problem in the summer, but no bugs will fly in during a winter month. The room renovation is relatively recent. There's a nice backlight above the headboard. The duvet covers are the same as in Africa, by the way – two regular sheets on either side of the duvet. In the shower, it's inconvenient that there's no handheld showerhead, only an overhead rain shower. There are no toothbrushes with paste or hair conditioner, so keep that in mind. What is provided: shower gel, hairdryer, ironing board with iron, wall-mounted air conditioner, TV, refrigerator, kettle, and everything works perfectly. Bottled water isn't provided because there's no point: the water in Australia is very clean, and everyone drinks tap water. Regarding breakfast: in the 16 days I spent at this hotel, the menu never changed. What you see in my photos here is what was in the cafe every day, the same items in the same spots. The staff is very friendly and always ready to help.

A very warm and cosy hotel in the heart of Melbourne and great value for money

Had a great stay in Melbourne! The hotel is in an excellent location, just a short walk from Southern Cross Station, making it very convenient for airport transfers, day trips, and public transport. Being within the Free Tram Zone was a huge bonus, allowing us to explore Melbourne CBD easily without additional transport costs. There were plenty of restaurants, cafes, supermarkets, and attractions nearby, all within walking distance. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Overall, it’s a great choice for travelers looking for convenience, accessibility, and value for money in Melbourne. I would definitely stay here again on my next visit.

The breakfast buffet was excellent! The water pressure in the shower was a bit weak, but the sink faucet had strong pressure. Overall, I had a comfortable stay. It would have been even better if there had been a shelf for shampoo and other toiletries in the shower.

Good location. It is about 5 min walk from Southern Cross Station and there shortly distances to varies attraction. Free Tram is just nearby and food is accessible nearby. Breakfast served is simple but great.

It’s my second night staying here in Melbourne before heading to the airport on the next day. I find it very convenient staying here. The room is okay and good enough for a short stay or on a budget.
