Atlantis Hotel Melbourne

I booked this hotel because it was advertised as a 4-star, but honestly, it's nowhere near that. It's more like a basic guesthouse from back in the day. Hardware: It's pretty bad. The lighting is dim, and there's a mirror directly facing the bed. The air conditioning is incredibly, incredibly, incredibly loud! It sounds like a tractor, no exaggeration! You absolutely cannot sleep with it on! The bathroom shower only has a half-fixed door. And you can clearly hear the sound of water running through the pipes from the floor above! It's just awful, awful, awful. Other: Most hotels usually have an emergency exit plan on the back of the door, but this one doesn't. There's only a regular door lock, no interior deadbolt or chain. Also, the elevator doesn't require a key card, so anyone can come up.

Great location, super convenient! They let me check in early, and there's a supermarket, Skybus, and tram right downstairs. Easy access to everywhere. Highly recommend staying here. Cleanliness was good too, and it's excellent value for money.

Location-wise, it's right opposite the SkyBus terminal and next to Southern Cross Station. There's a Coles supermarket right by the hotel entrance, which is super convenient for grabbing snacks. Trams 30 and 86 stop right outside, so getting around is a breeze. As for facilities, the room has a mini-fridge, and while the amenities aren't brand new, they're comprehensive. A big plus is that the front desk kindly accepted an online clothing order delivered to the hotel for me!

The service and facilities were really mediocre; the only thing this place has going for it is its location. The breakfast was incredibly basic – I've never seen one so sparse, with no meat or fruit. They also charge an extra $10 per day for children, which is a bit much. They state breakfast starts at 6 AM, but when we went down at 6:30 AM, the doors were locked. This is incredibly inconvenient for anyone needing to catch an early flight or start their day early, as they have to pay out of pocket for food. I really hope they improve this.

The room was clean and well-maintained, with excellent facilities. The location is great, very close to the station.
