Booked through Crystal Ski. Nice clean apartment(s) although one apartment could have easily accommodated the 4 of us rather than 2 apartments as that must have been more expensive. No clean linen over the week, no bins emptied. I’d prefer not to have used dish scourers as the owners policy. Also alarm outside our doors can go off anytime based on anyone in the block cooking (steam) as it woke one of my children twice. Definitely not high speed internet as both our apartments had really bad connection / buffering. Kids loved restaurant literally next door ! Otherwise all good and a guy on hand / or phone was always available and helpful.

We were only here for an overnight stop but what a little gem both the old town and this hotel proved to be. As the “highest town in France” Briancon commands beautiful and dramatic views of the surrounding mountains, together with the rather neglected and un-visited C17 fortifications built to keep the raiding Savoyards at bay. The streets are also attractive with an array of restaurants and tourist shops (not too tacky). The auberge has the advantage of being within the walls of the old town. Recently refurbished, the hotel retains its’ very cosy, somewhat old-fashioned but charming atmosphere. There is no lift, just broad, carpeted stairways to the upper floors and rooms. It is quite charming. Our room was on an upper floor, and although a tad small with only one window, had a large bathroom with a roomy shower. The staff are helpful and very friendly. Breakfast was good, with a very useful egg boiler contraption which produced lovely soft eggs. The best thing about the auberge however was their restaurant. We were there on a Friday night and it seemed to be the ‘hottest place in town’, absolutely packed. The food was of good quality and definitely did not break the bank.

Home from the beginning to the exceptional end ( mail, telephone, in presence) of Audrey and Fabienne. The hotel was very comfortable and the hotel was very comfortable. A small “spicy store” available at the reception and the possibility of ordering bread, winemakers and breakfasts. Beautiful discovery of this residence , meeting is taken for next year with the possibility of skiing at the nearest to the Norma (10 minutes) and Aussois and why not the other stations such as Val Cenis, Bessans, Bonneval and even Orelle for the access and as its name indicates it, in the sunset😀 Thank you for everything.

We really enjoyed our two night stay at this hotel. The room had a lovely view of the mountains, very comfortable beds, and a newly redone en-suite shower room. Breakfast was great, a variety to suit all tastes, in a very pleasant atmosphere. The reception team was welcoming and helpful despite us being two rather shabby looking hikers. We found the whole hotel to be very well run, and excellent value. Plenty of good cafes and restaurants plus shady parks and a supermarket are all close by. We would definitely stay here again, thank you for a lovely stay.
