Courtyard Memphis East/Park Avenue

I would like to give a huge shout out to the entire staff at Courtyard by Marriott off Park Ave in Memphis. I had lost my phone and the staff all helped me locate my phone. I can’t thank them all enough for the professionalism , compassion, and teamwork. Thank you so much Marriott staff.

This was a solid hotel. We don’t need much, but quiet and clean. Room was a double queen with lots of space. Check in front agent super professional. Just a room, this is a perfect place. AC and fridge kept everything and everyone nice and cool.

The property is dated, the parking lot is not what I would consider safe after dark and the customer service is embarrassing. I asked for 1 complimentary bottled water and they said you have to purchase one. I stay at Courtyards 3 times a month and never have been denied a bottled water. When I checked in the lady at the front desk literally takes a call from her personal cell phone while checking me in and doesn’t even make eye contact with me. There are plenty of properties in the area but I would avoid this Bonvoy property.

Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed. My FIRST room had a simple problem - dead batteries in the remote. I thought, no big deal. I’ll call the front desk and have them bring batteries to my room. Ah, problem - phone does not work. So, I walk downstairs (after driving for 12 hours - exhausted) the nice staff gave me a new remote, as they use a universal remote system. I get back to my room and try the remote. The remote works, but the tiny TV from 1999 had an issue with the volume. It was no louder than a whisper. I go back to lobby and request another room. The very polite staff gave me another room. THIS room had an enormous MODERN TV with GREAT speakers, but it’s extremely cold in the room. I go to turn on the heat. The damn HVAC unit was unplugged. I found out where the outlet was, plugged it in and the thing would not start. I head back downstairs. I got my third room for the night. This room had a working HVAC, and another tiny TV, and the remote worked. The room was poorly cleaned and had I not had sleep aid, I probably would not have relaxed enough to get a decent amount of sleep. I would recommend that you pay more and get a decent place to stay. I NEVER write reviews unless I feel compelled to warn fellow consumers about a seriously bad experience. Pay more, stay somewhere else.

Worst hotel I have been in for years, and I spend my life traveling ! Absolutely disgusting, badly maintained, everything looked and felt dirty, no soap or shampoo in the dispensers, and very unpleasant staff. And on top of that, totally overpriced. Do not go there !

Hotel is okay.....however beware of the woman security guard. I was dropped off at the curb. While walking to the front door she approached me screaming and yelling telling me that I'm not allowed to go in. She threatened me with arrest telling me that I don't belong in a nice hotel. Very very scary !

While Ms. Mary and maintenance were very helpful throughout my stay, I departed early as I did not feel safe. The hotel boast of security and even charges an additional $7.00 for you to park on the property. My family's cars were broken into twice. The first time, the trucks were parked behind the gate under a light. The second time, the trucks were parked in front of the main entrance. On both occasions security was supposed to be on duty. Additionally, a car the same model as mine was broken into for parts. After the second break in, my family left. I was unable to leave the city but checked out of the property as I no longer felt safe in the environment. While there, we were able to spend one day at the pool. I would suggest bringing your own chair to the pool as all the lounge chairs are broken. The general manager and manager offered my family no apologies. However, our friends received half off their entire stay when they checked out early and moved to another hotel. Their property was not touched. Not only did I receive nothing for my inconvenience, I was placed in a room where the refrigerator did not work. Finally, as of yesterday, one member of my family was charged for an extra night stay. This charge on their credit card is not congruent to the paper receipt received at the time of check out. They are being told by the general manager that the 'new' charge is the correct bill. Stay here at your own risk. I have been a Marriott member for years. This was the worst experience I have every had.

Biker event. Cars broken into. Motorcycles broken into. Hotel said they had security at night. We never saw security. Windows busted out of vehicles.. 2 nites in a row. We checked out early and so did a lot of others. And yes they have gates that are useless. If u read their reviews they have a history of break ins. Rooms are decent
