Hotel Marina Parc by Mij - All Inclusive

Entertainment not great

A beautiful hotel which led to a lot of disappointment. Booked through LoveHolidays very easily. Arrived to a friendly greeting. We stayed all inclusive and paid a deposit for the plastic cups and got our wristbands. Room lovely and clean and we were impressed initially. However, it soon became apparent that as it was towards the end of season the hotel was on ‘wind down’. The Spa facilities were closed which we were disappointed with. The Water Park that the kids were very excited about closed two days into the holiday. Even when it was open, half of the slides were not running and only two inflatable hoops for one slide. Lots of health and safety hazards. The life guide was too busy jet washing the sun beds getting ready to pack away rather than jet washing the algae off the slippery tiles to which we saw many people fall and bang heads on in the two days that it was open for our stay. The food was horrendous!!! Same food every day, very disappointing and looked reheated. Poor choice for children. Food cold and nuggets harder than bricks. The snack bar horrendous food choices. Couldn’t even get a simple toastie. Ice cream self serve was dirty with dirty utensils. Staff very unwelcoming, often made to feel like you were an inconvenience if you had a question. Pools freezing and not heated. No children’s entertainment as advertised. Only evening entertainment was in the bar upstairs which was very poor. On check out no one asked whether we’d had a nice stay. Handed our cups in to get our one euro deposit back for each cup, which luckily we did. However, our friends who also stayed in the hotel all inclusive were told there was no evidence the cups were theirs and were not allowed their 2 euros back, despite them showing their wrist bands and describing the reception staff who allocated the cups to them on arrival. Poor way to leave your guests. We ended up eating out every night even though we paid all inclusive just so we could eat! Lovely bar lady from Romania at the pool bar who was the most friendliest and helpful. Clean rooms with clean towels daily. But I certainly wouldn’t recommend or return. It’s a shame even though it’s end of season they didn’t keep facilities open as advertised as we’d paid for them.
