Hotels near Town Hall, Merimbula

My husband and I booked to stay here for one night. When we arrived, the smell inside the room was so strong of cleaning products that we had to open all the windows and the front door to get fresh air. When we tried to go to sleep, the smell was still very strong and it was starting to aggravate my throat and I had to turn on the air conditioning to keep ventilating the space and leave the front door open. We tried to sleep but hardly slept and in the early hours of the morning decided we needed to vacate the room. I called the motel and requested a refund and the receptionist told me that she had warned the proprietor against letting the room out because of the smells but that no other room had been available at the time I had booked the room online. She told me that she was unable to help me and that shes would leave a message for her manager to deal with the refund. The proprietor contacted me by email and told me that what the receptionist had told me was incorrect and that the room was fine. (i.e. that her receptionist had lied). She told me that she would have to ask *********** regarding a refund. After several emails, and phone calls to *********** and to *******, I was given the run around and I was unable to get a refund. Although I had booked through ***********, the booking was apparently booked by *******. The proprietor of the motel informed me that she had requested ******* to give me a refund. No refund came through I made repeated attempts to get the motel to refund me and they have refused. I do not recommend this establishment.

Pambula Beach Discovery Park's location, and value - value due to its location and facilities, that is, a few steps to the beach in a STUNNING, fully equipped cottage (other accomm. options available) - was incredible, and far beyond my expectations. This was my first stay in a tourist / caravan park and I had more privacy, peace and quite than anywhere else. I booked for four nights, and the next morning I extended - doubled my stay to eight nights. I did not want to leave. I cannot thank you all enough, and I will return AS SOON AS I CAN..!!! A special thanks to Jessica and Belinda for their assistance, kindness and friendliness.

It's on the hills with view of roof tops and distant water. Enjoyed the outlook. Location is fine, not far to everything, eg Wheelers is less than 10 min drive. We had an upper floor unit facing the view, but others will not get that. The units are probably from the 80s, but no complaints about condition and seemed clean and nicely presented. Kitchen and bathroom well- equipped, lots of good linen, even a corkscrew in the kitchen. Hot water pressure is good. Bathroom a good size. Slept well too, so bed comfortable. If you are comfortable this style, then recommended.

Great location near the local shops and coach station, local bus stop not far away either but everything in town is pretty compact, very comfortable bed, fairly decent TV, had all the other facilities I needed including kettle with tea and coffee, nice hot water in the shower, pretty satisfied. I didn't have much interaction with staff at all, nor did I hear any street noise for the 2 nights I was there, and I didn't use the pool as I went to the beach instead, so I can't comment much else on those.

What an absolutely beautiful overnight stay the surrounds and views are lovely. Very neat and tidy Motor Inn and very friendly owners. Clean place and room provided is all you need for an amazing stay. Good bed plenty of pillows and a great shower Thank you! Will be back for sure

Driving from Sydney to the east coast back to Melbourne, considering the accommodation near eden, I chose this Merimbula hotel, the price is not very cheap, but it is really suitable for a long vacation, and the first floor room is not available. The scenery, but it is very convenient to go out and go to the beach. There is nothing in the vicinity that can buy and drink. The room layout is not like it. It may be the reason for a family hotel. If you are late or early, there will be no one. When you check in, give you a key and tell you that the parking needs to be more orderly than the room number. Open the garage door with the key and just press the button. Can be considered convenient. Because the front desk was not available at the front desk, the key was placed directly on the door.

Nothing was a problem, early check in, late check out, and even gave me a lift to the airport. Great pool area, which would be great for a young family. The motel is central to everything, breakfast restaurants, easy walk to the RSL & the Bowling Club. Just a great motel

My 5th stay at Sails and each time it gets better and better. Rhys and Leanne are fantastic and I always feel treated like family when I arrive. Rooms are excellent and welcoming with everything you need for a your stay. Clean and practical. Then there’s the view.. stunning. A large north facing balcony (or patio) which is perfect for watching the day go by. I love the upper floor so I can be drenched in sun, while having a beer and look out to the water, I also love watching the cars going by! Pool is always clean and inviting and the grounds of the apartment are lovely. Great location and a quick stroll into town. It’s an even quicker walk to the beautiful beach down the street. I’m not sure why I haven’t reviewed this place sooner but I wouldn’t stay anywhere else when visiting. Thank you Rhys and Leanne for your excellent accommodation! We booked 6 nights in a Beachcomber Villa. We landed in Villa 1 which was the furthest back so the views were nowhere near what they’d be in Villa 3 or 4. If you specifically want that view from the photos then request one of those ones. The villa was well proportioned for our little family of 4. The kids bedroom gets very warm and the fan isn’t great but the rest of the villa was well ventilated and breezy thanks to the elevation of the villa itself. The deck was lovely to sit and have meals. We didn’t sit indoors to eat at all. There was a card left stating our villa had been cleaned by 3 people…it wasn’t the best with a dirty bin lid, messy cupboards, and some sort of caked stains on the kids bedsheets but we put this down to a busy Jan season. Having shaded parking under the villa was a huge plus however a downside is a noisy road out back. The early rises of 5am heading to the beach is loud in the bedrooms. Our kids are up early so not much of an impact to us but if you like a lie in that could be an issue. The park had great facilities like the kids club, splash park and tennis court. I loved the additions of pizza night, fairy floss and doughnut vans visiting. The pool is advertised as heated. Apparently it used to be but 2yrs ago the heating broke and it’s very expensive to fix. We were lucky and visited in good weather but I’d be disappointed if I thought I was getting a heated pool in sub par weather and ended up with that. Also the advertised on-site cafe is closed and has been for some time. Wasn’t an issue for us and you can walk down the hill to a coffee van which is there most of the day. Good coffee too. We’d stay again but I think I’d look at one of the clifftop condos next time.
