Very nice rooms with comfy beds, tea and coffee provided, enjoyed sitting on our terrace overlooking the vast grounds. On arrival we had a water problem with it running brown and stuttering but Camilla soon arranged for maintenance and it was swiftly sorted. Good swimming pool overlooking a large watering hole that different species of animals kept us entertained especially the baboons playing and fighting. There is a lot of seating provided to enjoy the animal sightings but could do with more sunbeds around the pool there were only three. Food can be tasty but on some occasions we didn’t like the choices such as cold soup or carpaccio (raw meat) as a starter. Leaving the lodge to visit Mapungubwe park got monotonous after a few times because of all the pot holes making for a very slow journey. We didn’t see that many animals at this park but enjoyed other activities such as walking the Heritage Trail with two knowledgeable guides.Unfortunately after the walk we were not picked up for one and a half hours later until we managed to get reception to telephone the lodge to remind them.It is a long time to sit on a wall. There was a problem with an injured lion but at least a phone call to tell us would have been nice.We also enjoyed a bush walk with Michael ending up at a nice viewing place for sundowners.

We stayed in the glamping tents. It was a first for all 6 of us and we were pleasantly surprised. It was a pretty hot dat but had the comfort of air conditioning and a lovely pool to cool off. Tents are great and spacious. Beautiful En suite bathroom. Vera welcomed us with a cold drink on arrival. We had a lovely dinner that night served by Victor who was back the next morning early to serve us our delicious breakfast. Thank you to everyone at Mopanie Lodge. If we are ever in the vicinity we will definitely stay at Mopanie Lodge again.

Everything was perfect. One must keep in mind however that the activities are at an extra cost. You are stranded in the camp if your not willing to pay the extra cost.

We enjoyed staying g at Mopane Bush Lodge and also 1 night at Mapedu wilderness camp. Both were just great. Very friendly staff. The food excellent, the rooms clean and comfortable. We had a great plunge pool overlooking the bush. Nice and knowledgeable guide on the game drives and cheetah tracking. The cheetah tracking was absolutely amazing!

Amazing location with lots of gamedrive activities, you can choose which activities you want to do for the duration of your stay (not just morning and afternoon gamedrives, but also night drives, cheeta tracking, bird drives, the other parts of Mapungubwe park). Friendly staff, amazing food, comfortable rooms. Room Eland had an amazing view.

From the warm welcome with smiling faces & hot towels to the kind send off two days later, our stay was exceptional. Our personal wilderness camp accommodations were clean & comfortable with exceptional views. The common areas were equally welcoming & provided for a great time by all. Staff were friendly & provided a high level of customer service always seeking to meet our needs. Our wildlife viewing experience was very good as well as the visit to the historical bushman paintings. Our trip ended with an unexpected power outage the morning of our departure, but staff provided an alternative breakfast without a hitch. The tent bathrooms were gorgeous, but had a quirky toilet that sat very low to the floor forcing you to squat before making contact with it. Maybe they wanted us to feel like we were going “bushy bushy” without being in the bush 🤣
