This hotel is up there with one of the best I’ve stayed in, food was excellent, bedrooms were very clean and hospitality was very very good, can’t fault in any way Set in a excellent setting surrounded by beautiful scenery Well done all involved

A delightful pub with rooms, with rear & front facing terraces in the pretty village of Middleton-one-Row overlooking the River Tees. Reasonable pub grub, Timothy Taylor beer & a comfortable, quiet room. We stayed one night on a dinner,bed & breakfast deal. We were well looked from the minute we arrived until departure after morning coffee.

I stayed at The Devonport Hotel for one night. Could have stayed longer. Rooms very clean, lovely decor & comfortable. The staff were very friendly. I give 10 /10 to the chef. Food was fantastic. Nice location. I definitely recommend a visit.

We stayed over at The Devonport at the end of June 2024 and couldn't recommend it enough - if I could give it six stars I would! Travelling with our infant daughter meant we were looking for somewhere that we could stay and dine together without compromising on quality and The Devonport delivered in spades. The room was very smart - the only negative was that it was very warm but we did discover a fan in the wardrobe. We dined in the pub downstairs and it was superb - a really interesting menu and a great wine list. To top it off restaurant manager Sarah looked after our daughter for fifteen minutes while we ate our main course in peace - we can't thank her enough for that. Breakfast was great too. They also seem to have interesting events happening and I'm sad we don't live locally so as to enjoy the 'obscure European wines' night! 12/10 would highly recommend!

Great village pub and hotel, had a bite to eat before heading to our friends party, the food and service were both brilliant. The room was spacious and spotlessly clean, and breakfast was also excellent. Looking forward to staying again next time we are in the area. Highly recommend.

Fabulous hotel in beautiful location. Very luxurious feeling and comparable rooms. Stayed in the suite. Some other rooms have kitchenettes and are even better value. Visited on a Friday night. Restaurant very busy and glad to have pre-booked table. Food was excellent. Best sourdough bread I've ever eaten and chicken Kiev superb. Worth checking out the courtyard at the back for posters of bands who've played there eg Blondie. Talking Heads. Wham!

Chose to get together with close family for a meal and to stay overnight at The Devonport, after getting married at Darlington Registry office on Friday 24th May. Wow! What a fantastic decision. The venue, food and staff were all absolutely first class! We were given their private dining room for the evening, enjoyed top level service and attention throughout the evening, and were made to feel very special indeed via their 5 star treatment. Thank you so much for REALLY looking after us all. You were amazing

Fantastic service from the friendly and attentive staff. I loved the location. The bar and restaurant area is great and the food was of a high standard. The bedroom I booked was superb throughout with an excellent view over the river and as an added bonus I was able to charge my EV for free overnight. I couldn't fault a single thing. I consider The Devonport to be a perfect pub as it hits the bullseye on every count and I will certainly return.

Love it here. Staff are brilliant, especially Lewis, Ollie and Rosie. Always accommodating for doggos. Guinness is lovely. Only downside is the lack of jalapeno crisps and that cheesy leek availability varies month to month. Deffos not a local pub for local people but plenty of locals in there - good sign!
