It was very pretty, but overpriced and the restaurant was terrible. When I checked in, there was blood on the bathroom floor. When I called the front desk about this, they were not disgusted and didn’t seem to know what to do. I finally asked if they could just bring me cleaning supplies and gloves. They did—minus the gloves. The whole thing was quite surprising and gross.

Good front desk staff. Comfortable beds. Good location with plenty of dining options if not too late. Garbage truck woke us up at 4:50am. Toilet starting running in night and did not stop.

The Inn is a great spot for us to stay as we visit our son at Wesleyan. The young man at the front desk at check in was most helpful. He gave us a $10 voucher for the Tavern and told us about the family discount for stays while visiting Wesleyan students. Lisa, at the bar, was friendly and made us feel at home. We will definitely be staying again.

The Middletown Inn staff is superb. I had injured myself participating in a senior track event, and the front desk person was concerned and helpful in bringing some first aid products directly to our room and arranging for free valet parking for our car. The front desk staff in the morning were equally helpful. The room was immaculate, and the restaurant food was excellent. All the staff were friendly. Thank you, Middletown Inn!

The front desk staff were fantastic, and Darcy in the bar is a sweetheart. However the woman who answers the phone for room service was so rude. The first time I called she immediately said could I call back later because they were too busy. Not polite, and pretty rude. I waited an hour and called back again and same woman said that because it was 8:59pm and they stopped taking orders at 9pm she couldn't take my order. There is nothing in the room to say that, and she never mentioned it the first time I called. I explained what happened and she basically hung up on me!! I was staying with my sister who was very sick and she ended up being admitted to hospital the next morning. It was a very stressful visit and that woman made it worse. I had to leave my sick sister alone in our room to get a take out pizza. I hope the hotel speaks to her because her attitude was disgusting.

From the quiet, beautiful entrance to our spacious and comfortable rooms - this boutique hotel is a winner. Located right downtown, there are lots of shopping & restaurants to choose from. Perfect for families. The only thing we didn't love was the parking in the back. Go and enjoy!

The destination fee is a joke. I have paid this at resorts and other places with amenities, but this place had none. The description of one of the reasons for the destination fee was the coffee maker in the room. Not only was it dirty, but it was a lower quality one than in standard chain hotels, as was the coffee itself. Otherwise the hotel is ok—it’s biggest advantage is the location if you are visiting Wesleyan.

We stayed at the Inn at Middletown for one night and had a wonderful experience. We found the room to be well appointed and the beds very comfortable. I had breakfast at the hotel restaurant and it was delicious. The staff at this establishment is truly what makes the experience so special. We interacted with Nicole at the front destk numerous times for varying little issues. She was gracious and accommodating and made our stay perfect.
