Awaji Island Uzushio Onsen Umemaru

We visited Awajishima Umemaru Ryokan with a family of 7, including 5 adults and 1 5-year-old and 1 3-year-old. It's an old memory, but we decided to stay at this ryokan again based on the memory of seeing the Naruto Bridge in front of us, having a great view, and the good food. We stayed in room 401 in the annex for one night and had the red snapper and spiny lobster course for dinner. The red snapper main dish for dinner was too small for 5 adults to eat, and there was only a little bit of sashimi. Half of the red snapper was served with turban shell and Horakuyaki, but the liver of the turban shell was sandy and gritty and inedible. There were only 2 small spiny lobsters, and the seasoning of the boiled red snapper heads was only sweet, and the ingredients themselves were not fresh, so there was nothing that could be said to be delicious. The accommodation fee was 33,000 yen including tax for one adult and 26,000 yen for two children, totaling about 190,000 yen. We used a 100,000 yen hometown tax coupon to pay the difference locally. I thought I would be able to enjoy the seafood to my heart's content, but I was shocked that it didn't live up to my expectations. I drove three hours to get there, but it was a place I don't think I'll ever visit again.

Sea bream sea bream sea bream! I went there for a day trip. I had the onion fondue course, but I was able to eat as much sea bream as I could! I love sea bream, so I was very happy. The sea bream sashimi was especially delicious. I could tell that it was fresh. However, I feel like there was too much food. It was really hard to eat for two women. We kept eating for two hours...I felt like my stomach was going to burst. At the end, we had boiled sea bream...it was so rich! Lol lol There's no doubt that everything was delicious, so I wonder if there was a course with a smaller amount? The hot spring was wonderful and thick. It felt like my skin had changed somehow. Unlike the Showa era look, the inside was very clean. I would like to stay there next time.

スタッフの方が皆親切だった

I stayed one night in a room with an open-air bath. It was nice to have a Japanese-style room with a bed. There is no washing area in the open-air bath, so I could only wash in the public bath and go back to my room before entering the bath. But the hot springs were slippery and felt good. All amenities were provided, and there was a pot for coffee, tea, and sencha, and a bottle of mineral water for each person in the refrigerator. The air conditioner was so loud that I turned it off when I went to sleep. Dinner will be full of sea bream and Awaji beef Horakuyaki. The fact that the dining room is a private room was also a big plus. After checking in, I was able to enjoy a self-service drink in the lounge in front of the front desk and take a breather. The ice lolly next to it was the perfect bite size for after a bath. The next day, we spent a relaxing time looking out at the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge from our room until check-out at 10am. It was a spectacular view.

Enjoy the fresh ingredients of Awaji. After the meal, you can use the private open-air bath. The hot spring here is popular for its smooth water that feels good on the skin. The location from the open-air bath is also great.
