I really like the InterContinental in Beppu. The bathhouse is very comfortable. The room is spacious. The facilities are good and relatively new. I recommend staying here when you go to Beppu.

Friendly and good food. The facilities feel a bit old, but that's not a problem. There seem to be two family baths, and there is debris floating around in the hot springs. I don't know if it's difficult to filter it out, but I think it would be better if it was cleaned up. The public bath was okay.

We had a wonderful one-night stay at this onsen ryokan. Hospitality: The staff came to the carpark to greet us as soon as we arrived. We waited at the bar area with green tea. The reception staff could communicate well in English. Onsen: Our room had an indoor bathtub/onsen so we could enjoy anytime. We could book a free 50-min private family onsen, which was outdoor with a nice view. The public onsen (indoor and outdoor) was available 24-hour (except for the 15-min cleaning time at 9pm each night). We went at night so couldn't see much of the outdoor view there. Food: Our package included dinner and breakfast, both traditional Japanese style. We're very full! Room/environment : There was 10 detached units and ours was one of them. All traditional style with tatami and futon for sleep. Dinner is served at the restaurant and each room seems to have a private / segregated section so we didn't see other guests while eating. The whole place is not big and not much to do, but you feel like surrounded by greenery.

Excellent and hearty service: There was heavy rain at our arrival and departure. The staff helped to carry our luggage from main building to annex. Umbrellas were provided. Shoes and clothes of suitable size are provided immediately on arrival as we were soaked with rainwater. Drinks and comfortable sofas were arranged while we were checking in. Every staff wore smile on their face and helpful, reaching helping hands even before we asked. Nice food: Japanese style meal , tasty, nice rice and prickles , we were very full after dinner Nice onsen: different onsen to choose from, with suitable temperature. Free family onsen booking Escape from urban: nice green environment , eye catching for instagram.
