Watari Onsenkan

Last minute decision to stay here and we were pleasantly surprised. It's located at the south end of Tanegashima in bushland. Very quiet location. The property is a credit to the couple that own it. It's well looked after, immaculately clean and one can tell they take a lot of pride and work very hard to provide the best possible service and facilities to their customers. The rooms are spacious, the room we booked was like a self contained unit with washing machine and small kitchen. Basic but nice inclusions if you're on the road and need to wash clothes as we did. Everything is spotlessly clean. One thing we loved about this property is the water supply is directly from the Onsen. It's very slippery and is piped straight into every room. It gives you the option to have a Onsen bath with your partner or kids which is unusual for Onsen accommodation. There's no large Onsen on this property, however there is a very nice Onsen only 2 minutes away that costs 350 yen. That's cheap and it has the same great water, is very clean and is quite large. The property doesn't have meals included. There is a supermarket and convenience store close by. Overall we would come back here in a heartbeat. The owners were very friendly and kind, combined with the level of cleanliness, beautiful Onsen water to your own room and their willingness to help you with any requests it made it a great stay for us
