Motel 6 Mineral Wells, TX

The lobby had a broken piece of granite as a reception desk. It was taped together with what appears to be electric tape. The lobby had furniture randomly placed. The dining area had a empty vending machine sitting near the center of the room. The floor was filthy with food stains. The guest lobby bathrooms (male and female) had a hand written “out of order” sign on them. Looking through the door of the fitness room revealed a room full of random items. Non of which was fitness equipment. No lights were on in the common areas. There was a random male teenager roaming about. Bumped into to me 3 times during the course of my very short stay. Following me on the elevators going outside then coming back in. 1st room key card would not work after getting a new key card 3 times a new room was assigned. The receptionist blamed me for keeping the key card too close to my phone. That did not happen. As a frequent traveler I know better. The 1st room smelled of old urine. The room itself was dis shelved. The couch cushions out. On the arms of the sofa. We ask for a different room. The next room …. The smell was better. The couch cushions again out on the arm of the sofa. Each piece of wooden furniture was broken and or delaminated. Brown substance smeared on the wall. Holes in the black out curtains. The bottom of the sheer curtains had a black substance on the bottom 1-2 inches. We thought we would make the best of if it and attempted to stay. A quick check of the mattress edge reveled black short beard hairs all along the edge. But I did NOT note the tell tale signs of bed bugs. The wifi did not work. The tv did not work. My husband put in a desperate call into the hotel next door to see if indeed they were sold out as their website stated. They had a room for us. So we promptly requested a refund and went next door.
