Kalypso Studios

This studio complex was well located for exploring the local area. and accessing bars, restaurants, beaches and the ferry over to Telendos as well as the local bus service.The local area is full of hills and steps being located on the hillside so anyone visiting must be prepared for that. From the complex itself it is a walk up a moderately steep hill to the main road but being there and near the sea adds to the appeal of the location. I was lucky to have an upstairs room with a partial sea view. I was very happy with that and the balcony was large and offered privacy from the neighbours on either side. There was a welcome washing line and pegs for drying clothes. My room was freshly painted and spotlessly clean with adequate storage and all the amenities I needed. Effective, quiet air con included was very welcome. The bathroom space was tight but I worked out my strategy to shower comfortably and there was always hot water. The pool area has a revolving number of guests from the other nearby hotels and outsiders but everyone seemed to visit it for short periods.If you only want occasional use the pool is fine but the area is too small to rely on spending all day there and there is also limited shade at the height of the day which is just the nature of the sun movement and not the facilities provided. The jacuzzi was a bit of an additional treat for a property rated 2 stars by Jet 2. The availability of drinks and daytime snacks at reception is also a very good facility. All the staff I encountered were extremely helpful and friendly. The cleaning was incredible, in fact I felt guilty at the frequency of towel changes, it was very generous and of course a bit of a treat. Overall I feel that this property offers excellent value for money.

The hotel room was clean and always kept clean . Our balcony on the higher floor had a view of the sea , only partially blocked with the building in front . We were lucky to get this as many rooms on the ground floor only had a view of the building in front . Jet 2s promotion pictures are misleading in this regard . The pool area is excellent - but as noted by many the 10 sun beds are not enough and are white plastic and very uncomfortable . There are chairs too though and a jacuzzi . It is used by other hotel residents and locals all the time . But with 2 fab beaches within 10 minutes walk who needs a pool ? We tried it once but used the beach every other day . We loved the hidden gem of a beach , with its great sunbeds and food . Used by locals all the time who were amazingly friendly . There are 2 tavernas right next to the hotel , and 2 within 5 minutes walk . But you must get the boat to Telendos for a great meal at only 6 euros return . It leaves every half hour from the small harbour - we did this many times . We loved the relaxation and friendly people on the island

Wonderful apartments in a perfect location. Spotlessly clean with everything you need. There is a slight hill from the apartment to the main road but it wasn’t a problem. Room’s cleaned daily with fresh towels! We were in room 9 which had a sea view, yes there were buildings in front of us but it was still pretty! I will agree with previous reviews that the sun-beds around the pool are hard plastic but they weren’t horrendous! We never had a problem getting a bed even in the afternoon. Look after the Kalypso cats which are very friendly!

We had a wonderful stay at Kalypso Hotel! The rooms were spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The pool area was beautiful and perfect for relaxing after exploring the island. But the real highlight was the extremely friendly and accommodating staff—they truly went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Kalymnos!

Really lovely little hotel on a perfect position. 2 beaches within a 5 - 8 min walk, 2 restaurants a few steps away and several others within a 10min walk. The hotel is immaculately clean, lovely pool area although the sunbeds are a bit uncomfortable, however there are deckchairs and an area around the spa pool with padded seating area. It has a small bar at reception area and serves snacks at lunchtime. Breakfast is served in the sister hotel across the road which is very well presented. Staff are all really lovely and friendly, always a smile. Our room was kept immaculately clean, towels changed daily and sheets every 3-4 days. It had a great view out to sea,ample size and a good balcony. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again. Please be nice to the wonderful cats who just want some kindness.

Great location. Walking distance to many tavernas and restaurants. Also the little ferry to Tolemnos. Apartments are not particularly spacious but are lovely. They also have a large balcony area. The staff are delightful in all areas. Pool are is lovely and has great views out to sea and Tolemnos. The sunsets are spectacular. However there are only 10 sunbeds and 10 deckchairs. 20 apartments ! This gets worse because the hotel allows external guests to use these facilities for a fee of €5, many of who do not even pay this ! There are 3 other hotels down the road, non of which have swimming pools and so demand is pretty high !
