Maistra Select Mlini Villas and Apartments

There are very few holidays that are actually faultless but this was one of them! The accommodation (apartment 587) was lovely, clean and modern with a huge balcony and lovely view. We stayed with our teenage daughter who had the sofa bed in the lounge area. All the staff were super friendly and helpful. The pool area was great and spacious with lots of loungers (there was just 1 day that we struggled to find 3 together). We have paid €14 for the breakfast buffet at the restaurant a few mornings, the food was good and plenty of choice. The evening buffet we did once. The location is just beautiful and so convenient, 15 minutes from Dubrovnik (Uber was €15, bus was €3), and the same for the airport and Cavtat. Plenty of lovely restaurants within a few minutes walk along the beach. It is the first holiday where we have said we will definitely be back!

Booked a premium sea side villa for our 10 day holiday. The ‘sea side villa’ we were allocated did not live up to the photos on the hotel website. We were really looking forward to our sea view but sadly the majority of the view was a brick wall of the villa in front. The kitchen area is very small. The pans provided were so big you couldn’t fit two on the hob at the same time. Kitchen cupboard door fell off every time you opened it. Staff at the reception really weren’t interested in trying to sort out any problems. Asked to speak to a manager but each time she was in a meeting. Ironically though there was a slip of paper in the villa saying if there is anything you need just let us know. Clearly just put there for effect! Prior to our holiday I sent an email asking if we could book a late check out. Was advised this shouldn’t be a problem and could be done when we arrive. On our second day we asked the reception staff and was told to come back the day before check out which we did and were told to contact them the next morning (check out day). Called them at 8:00am and was told no we couldn’t have a late check out. All very strange. Overall the hotel staff and accommodation were disappointing.

Lovely villa overlooking the sea. Really spacious and great for us as our teenager daughter was with us. Reception staff at Mlini Hotel excellent and really helpful. We used the pool at the Astarea (sister) Hotel which was great. During the early part of our stay the this hotel was closed for refurbishment so the pool side was relatively quiet- once it opened up it was really busy. Beach immediately outside. Gorgeous sunsets! We were not aware that the Astarea was closed so missed out on using their lovely new gym and spa. We used Uber quite a bit for visits to Cavtat and Dubrovnik, but the local bus was good. Water taxi 10 Euros pp each way a nice but more expensive option. A lovely part of Croatia.

The property did not update on the check-in process, so this was a problem when giving directions to the taxi driver. The unit we had, however, was functional and clean, with a gorgeous view. The property itself is beautiful!

We were a little worried when Jet2 contacted us to say the sister hotel was having building work done, but we decided not to change accommodation and heard no noise during our stay. We stayed in a beach front Villa, paying quite a bit extra for the accommodation and it was completely worth it. We were self catering, although the kitchen was small we managed really well, making most of our meals in the villa. The kitchen had everything we needed, including a toastie maker! The villa was spacious and had the most amazing terrace over looking the sea - stunning views! It was modern and clean - fresh beach towels provided every day. Mlini is a quiet area, with a lovely clean pebble beach, bring water shoes to go in the sea. Every member of staff from reception, to cleaning, to restaurant are so helpful and couldn't do enough for you. I actually sprained my ankle the day before we left (walking the city walls) and they run me around in the golf buggy and brought ice numerous times, and gave us a later check out, they really went above and beyond. A few tips: 1. Download Uber app, Ubers taxis are the cheapest and quickest way to Dubrovnik or the number 10 bus. 2. Do the cable car ride to the top of Dubrovnik, the most amazing views... there's a restaurant up there which will be fully booked (we booked in February for July) but they sometimes accept walk ins/drinks only. Try to get up there to see the sun set, its amazing! Cable car is pay on the day, no need to book in advance. 3. You can get water taxis from Mlini port to Dubrovnik or Cavat. Cavat is worth a visit, we went on the boat and had a wander and lunch, different to Mlini (more of a port) so worth a visit. 4. We had no issues getting sunbeds at the pool as the main hotel is having renovations so closed... pool opens at 8am, no queue for sunbeds and plenty there later in the morning. 5. If you are self catering, Srebreno is the next village along and walkable, there's a big shopping centre there called Sub City, about 20mins walk, we got an Uber back for €7 with our food shop. 6. 15min ish transfer from the airport - amazing. Croatia is stunning and we have already booked again for next year.

We are staying at Villa Mediterranea which is a small self contained appartment suitable for a couple and maybe a small child. Views of the sea are lovely and it is owned by a very nice man who lives underneath. He collected us from the airport and will take us back at the end. The flat is extremely convenient to the sea, which is a few minutes away. There are lots of steps but these can be avoided walking down a very quiet road which is lovely. I’m glad we didn’t hire a car because the bus service and ferry service is excellent taking us to Cavtat, Dubrovnik and other lovely places. The sea front is buzzing and there are peaceful areas too. There is a shopping centre within walking distance for food and other things. I would definitely recommend Mlini for a family as there are lots of lovely parks and I would highly recommend Villa Mediterranea for a couple.

Fantastic Apartment with a sea view to die for. Watched sunsets each night. All of the staff were wonderful. The pool area was so clean and had a very chilled atmosphere. The food in all restaurants was excellent. Cannot wait to go back next year.

Immaculate service, great facilities, beautiful setting. Beach and pool good for swimming, restaurant/bar by pool and beach great for drinks and light or large meals. Spotlessly clean and a well equipped apartment with benefits of being in the hotel complex
