Annandale Arms Hotel

We had a family lunch here and the service was fantastic The food was delicious I had probably the best steak pie I have ever eaten ,and the sticky toffee pudding was delicious. We all g had a great lunch and will definitely be back ! Would thoroughly recommend

Visited the bar and had dinner. Very friendly, with lively bar and good food. The piped music and staff walking round with earpieces gave it a slightly soulless corporate atmosphere. A bit more old fashioned individuality would be an improvement, but I would still eat there again.

My family traveled to Scotland to attend a funeral with most of us staying here. I can’t express how thoughtful the staff were. They accommodated our needs, nothing was too much. I understand it’s recently been taken over and they are renovating, rooms were clean and I can’t wait to see what they are like once renovated. From the bottom of our hearts thank you for making such a hard visit so comfortable. Can’t wait to return on happier times. If you are visiting Moffat this hotel should be top of your list.

Visited for a couple of nights as a quick weekend break having stayed here a few years ago. Booking process was quick and easy, arrival and check in all simple and i like the off road car parking (street parking is still free but i like being parked out of the way).... On check in, we were given the option of rooms so chose one in the courtyard at the back the hotel. Hotel has been recently taken over and part way though some refurbishments which i suspect may split opinion!! I did like the tartan carpeted, wood clad traditional bar it used to have but actually quite like the modern feel it now has (my wife would still prefer the 'Scottish' look). Bedrooms could do with a little work which i assume is on the cards following the common areas refurb but was clean and comfortable, tea/coffee and hot shower etc. Breakfast was nice and freshly cooked to order with endless tea/coffee and toast if you wanted.... We didn't have any other meals in the hotel as we'd booked a couple of local restaurants for our stay but used the bar a 'few' times and service and drinks were great. I've forgotten his name but the young (most people are young to me) lad who was both on reception and service behind the bar was on top of his customer service game, always interested in how we were, where we'd been and if all was ok etc.... he's a credit to the hotel... Will be interested to see what other refurb looks like and will visit again I'm sure.

The Annandale is being refurbished and a lot of thought and care is being put into this. We went for a lunch during the week and the menu was really good. We decided on fish and chips and were glad we did because it was the best we'd ever had! Service was professional and friendly. Restaurant is looking amazing. Will definitely be back to try more on the menu and highly recommend it.

Excellent service and the new owner clearly means business, with extensive refurbishment still to come. My bed was comfortable and the food was average if not slighlty better than average. A hotel to look out for in the future once the owner has made the necessary adjustments, yet still currently a pleasant stay.
