Buccleuch Arms Hotel

Booked this hotel after reading reviews on TA. From the outside it looks a little austere perhaps even a bit gothic, but that belies what waits inside. The owners have worked hard to renovate and refurbish this building. Bedrooms are simple but scrupulously clean and very comfortable. Bathrooms are really good with new modern fittings, walk in showers etc. Again menus may appear a bit limited but food is good and cooked to order for each meal. The owners and staff are really attentive and friendly and go out of their way to please. All in all, if travelling between England and Scotland this hotel is ideal for breaking the journey. Recommended.

The best welcome ever from Dave and Polly. We are 6 lady cyclists and had a very enjoyable stay here. The owners were so accommodating and friendly. Our bikes were safely locked away for the night. The rooms were comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. Would definitely recommend. Truly lovely people. Thanks for a great stay.

Superb experience due to the family who run this hotel and their enthusiasm and commitment. The bedrooms are very clean and the shower was brilliant .You choose your cooked breakfast the night before and a time. There are a variety of cereals ,juices and cooked meats and cheeses and croissants. I would recommend the homemade porridge with golden syrup .The owner came round many times to check if we had a good nights sleep or wanted anything else. We will be back

There's not a hotel more focused on the customers anywhere. In particular as a motorcyclist the staff greet you as old friends and the facilities are fantastic. We really enjoyed our stay as the last night of this year's Scottish tour and my 66th birthday trip

A very personalised service. A family run business all staff were very attentive and informative regarding local area Outstanding food & service with unique dishes leaving you satisfied & impressed. A comfortable homely Moffat history , themed pub with exceptionally clean tidy rooms. Cannot recommend this family run pub highly enough. Wonderful experience.

Highly recommend this hotel especially for bikers. Along with the excellent service, food and ambiance they provide secure bike parking, drying room for those arriving wet and facilities to clean your bike. Even helped our friends with sorting out a tyre problem when we arrived. Looking forward to our next visit with Dave and the team

This hotel is biker heaven with clean comfortable rooms, excellent food and a good bar, all hosted by a family team. Motorcycle parking is secure and there is even a shed full of parts such as oils , cleaning equipment and a calibrated air pump. This is the perfect choice for any motorcyclist heading tonight from Scotland.

The hotel is known as Biker friendly and we were on Motorbikes. Although it undoubtedly has a strong bike focus it caters to all travellers extremely well. It is a family owned and operated business, and it shows, in an amazing way. Everyone is in tune to deliver an outstanding customer experience. From the moment we had the large secure gate opened and a welcome handshake to the moment we left with hugs, my wife, myself and our two friends could not have felt more at home or cared for. The rooms were spotless and well thought out with modern decor. There was everything you needed including a huge walk-in shower TV, Tea/Coffee etc. There are more hotel facilities than you could imagine including a pressure wash area for the bikes, a huge well stocked cleaning cupboard with everything you need to spruce up the bike, air lines for tyres etc. This is all free to guests. The Mororbike Garages provide extra personal storage and security if available. Booking in advance is highly recommended it is rightly busy but there are so many places to go in the hotel from the private courtyard, the TV and Map planning. room and multiple lounges and bars. The food is amazing you must try the house special award winning steak pie but worth a second night to try the Zimbabwe special Babotie (think that is how it is spelled). . We will be back and heven't stopped recommending to friends and we only left a day ago!! Thanks for looking after us so well a real jewel in the UK. Oh and when I say say they have thought of everything for bikers they even have an earplug dispenser free again ! I Challenge any biker to go and saying they felt the hotel was missing - nothing I could find and so many things I could never have expected. Well done lots of hard work it it really shows and makes people feel rested and cared for 👍
