We had a lovely stay at Fortuna Spinoza. Our room was large and filled with light and was decorated with a combination of antiques and modern touches such as a flat screen TV and a king size bed. The hosts provided helpful recommendations for restaurants and bike rentals. Breakfast was excellent, with nice fruit bowls and good lattes. The location is good, easy to access and find parking. Monnickendam is a pretty little town with a few cute shops and several nice restaurants, and was quiet and uncrowded.

We have never stayed before in an 18-century mansion house with all the contemporary amenities, including a large comfortable bed and a nice en-suite bathroom. The neighbourhood was quiet and peaceful and we enjoyed a nice garden view. But what made our stay really special was the hospitality of its hosts Babette, Raziya and Niels. Every day we enjoyed great breakfasts from the fresh local produce, including cheese, bread, croissants, jams, berries and others. On top of that, Babette and Raziya cooked delicious pancakes and scrambled eggs with salmon for us. On the last day of our stay, Babette even added fresh garlic from the local garden! When my wife felt unwell after the long journey, Babette prepared breakfast for her and gave me the address of the local pharmacy. Thank you very much!

Amazing place to stay, a cpomplete surprise the minute you enter the beautiful building! The place is breathing history. A classic house from 18th century that offers a unique stay very close to nature as well as to Amsterdam. The hospitality is great: the owners are friendly, service-oriented people that do anything to make the stay an unique experience. And ... breakfast is outstanding.
